this is a shameful distortion of the republican position. Republicans of course support mail-in voting. what we oppose is the automatic mailing of ballots to registered voters, because there's no way to audit whether or not these ballots are illegally harvested.

it is common sense to ask citizens to request a mail-in ballot should they want to use this option, and even more sensible to have them include a copy of photo ID at the time of request to prove citizenship.
