The latest statement from West Midlands Police seems to confirm they're still pursuing the man who was violently attacked in the street, charging him with assaulting a police officer.
If that's the position they're sticking with, it's astonishing they still haven't simply apologised and dropped the charges.
From everything that's now in the public domain, they appear to have got this badly wrong.
I'm sure you've all seen it by now, but the Birmingham Police said not to share it, so here it is.
A man was attacked by a gang of black men. Police, with a full view of the incident, grabbed the victim instead. Have they learned nothing?
He swung at the cop as he got up after being knocked down by the gang. It's reasonable to think the attackers were continuing their assault, so he swung in self defense. No normal person in that situation would expect police to be grabbing them. He should sue these retards.
The cover up is worse than the crime now.
This video proves the police were told the victim was assaulted, and the female officer was told by a third party that she attacked him so quickly he thought she was an assailant.
She nods her head while being told he was assaulted first.
The entire department should be sacked. They intentionally lied about the situation to cover their incompetence.
- officer wasn't punched
- officer assaulted a victim
- officer didn't identify themselves
- officer calls victim a "dick"
- officer failed to apprehend the actual perps of an assault that happened right in front of them

WHY are the Birmingham (UK) Police asking us all to stop sharing this video?
Maybe because three non-whites teamed up on a white and who does the officer arrest?
You guessed it.
UK: A video circulating widely on social media appears to show 3 Black individuals assaulting an intoxicated white man in Birmingham before a female police officer arrests the white man.
Birmingham Police asks not to share this video.
White kid gets surrounded and punched to the floor, as he staggers to get up he’s attacked again - this time by police - and he lashes out not knowing who is after him.
Why didn’t they arrest the attackers?
DIEversity.
The police are your enemy.
The further footage only makes this look worse.
It shows the victim of the attack who had already been arrested being escorted to the police car, with a female officer calling him a “dick”, before he's put into the police vehicle the wrong way.
From start to finish, the whole incident appears to have been handled poorly.
In my view, the police should stop doubling down, acknowledge that serious questions have been raised, apologise if mistakes were made, and carry out a full, transparent investigation into what went wrong.
Public confidence isn't restored by telling people not to share the footage. It's restored by showing accountability when policing appears to fall below the standard the public expects.
