A coach once said to me: “You’re going to learn more about the game from the bench than on the floor.”
This holds true professionally.
Embrace any opportunity you get to “sit on the bench” — watching, listening, noticing.
Too many of us underestimate the power of the bench.
Took a few days to recover from an unbelievable 48 hours in Fiji. Clip of them scoring their last try here, to try & give an idea of what it was like.
Top 5 rugby memory & I’ve been lucky enough to have a few! Can’t wait to return & cheer on @Fijian_Drua at home again next year.

Eddie Jones issued the rugby world a warning when asked which nation would posed the greatest threat at the 2023 World Cup.
Unsurprisingly, the vastly experienced coach listed the rising French side.

"The first time Eroni Cirikidaveta laid eyes on his son was when his wife showed him a baby scan picture in New Zealand...
"It took 24 years for them to finally meet and when Eroni hugged his son, @Fijian_Drua lock Te Ahiwaru Cirikidaveta"

12 months ago was asked to look after the ball kids for the @AllBlacks@wallabies.
Got to choose the kids.

We had club competition for our women back in the early 70s @fijirugby. There wasn't any competition beyond that at district/provincial and national level which ultimately ended any desire for them to progress further. Most switched to netball and other sports that existed then.
Coaches - If you were told this was your weight room for 8wks to prepare an Olympic Games Mission to win Gold, how would you react, plan, proceed? And that in 8wks this was it, work with what you’ve got. How will you motivate yourself and your team? #Coaching_Science_Art🇫🇯💯🙌

The Ministry of Forestry wishes Fiji Rugby 7s rep. Iosefo Masi Baleiwairiki the very best at the Tokyo Olympics. He is a 3rd year student at the Fiji National University pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Forestry, and is a frequent visitor to the Ministry’s research facilities.
True champions emerge from the lessons that failure brings.
Well done, England - and thank you for giving us all something to smile about over the last few weeks. Your time will come. 🏴⚽️❤️
Nobody in the All Blacks was surprised at the exploits of Fiji in Dunedin, which has led to questions over their potential future in the Rugby Championship. #NZLvFIJ
