@RufusSG These people hate the vaccine in the same way many environmentalists hate nuclear power. It solves the problem they claim to be concerned about, but in a way that doesn't achieve their true goals
This is a great little thread. To add to it a bit: for "NHS" you could actually insert pretty much any part of the UK's not at all inefficient civil service.
I hope you have a cost code for reading this, btw
@sAugust06 No matter what your position on climate change is, rhetoric like this doesn't help. Clearly, we're not going to completely solve climate change in two years, so if that's our deadline, why even bother trying?
@TheLawyerCraig Nothing says "I'm a terrible scientist,' quite as well as "I was looking for evidence." You don't *look* for evidence to support your theory, you look at the evidence that exists and formulate a theory around it...
Lord Blunkett has said that Britain should introduce ID cards in order to help control immigration
Our 2023 survey found that 54% of Britons would support making it compulsory for every person in the UK to carry an official ID card
@JustRowena They have an absolute hero complex. They are incapable of articulating the concept of "we are underpaid for what we do" without being utterly condescending, because they view "what we do" as being Big Damn Heroes
I am absolutely disgusted that Joe Biden has declared the most Holy of Holy days - a self proclaimed devout Catholic - as Transgender Day of Visibility. The only thing you should be declaring on this day is ‘HE is Risen’.
@EricPhDing I assume these "everyone is permanently ill" fantasies only work because his devoted followers never leave the house and so don't know the status of the real world...
@H_H_Gray Many US stores, such as Target and Trader Joes, have the cashiers bag your groceries for you. Going from that to self service is likely a far bigger mental leap than going from our "how quickly can they dump your groceries at the end of the till?" cashiers
I often say: We Irish are the only people in the world who are nostalgic for the future. We always believe in a better tomorrow.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day, everyone!
People aren't suddenly "switching" to saying it was a bad game, it's just that enough time has passed for people to admit that they didn't like it anywhere near as much as the release-period hype required
I can't stand this with tears of the kingdom. It's MIND numbing how people all of sudden switched to acting like it was a "bad game"
Skylands, the depths, caves, SO much more enemies types, the temples and fusion abilities add SO much more and the game is way better to explore
@JobbingLeftieH The thing you have to be careful about is that this is a projection. Obviously, no one who is taking a drug in "early adolescence" is in their 80s yet. It's still likely a great drug, but I have a feeling the study was likely a Covid Zero style extrapolation from limited data...
