When the Sabbath commences, we should place a guard upon ourselves, upon our acts and our words, lest we rob God by appropriating to our own use that time which is strictly the Lord’s. {CG 529.3}
God has given us the whole of six days in which to do our work, and has reserved only one to Himself. This should be a day of blessing to us—a day when we should lay aside all our secular matters and center our thoughts upon God and heaven. {CG 529.2}
Happy Sabbath, dear Adventist family! Today we welcome our holy day across 212 countries where our church is present. From small islands to vast cities, from early dawn in the Pacific to quiet evenings in Asia, one faith and one hope unites us in worship as a global family.
There’s a lot you could do when life gets confusing, overwhelming, or just plain hard, but the best thing you can do is start with God.
Not as a last resort. But as your first move.
Whatever you’re facing, believe He’s already ahead of it.
“And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me’” (Matt. 25:40, NKJV).
Happy Sabbath, dear Adventist family! True worship is more than songs and rest. It is love in action. The Sabbath calls us not only to remember our Creator but also to reflect His compassion through every gesture of kindness. Maranatha!
Today we finished the 2025 Annual Council of the Seventh-day Adventist Church at our world headquarters: with hearts, smiles, and arms wide open. After all, driven by mission, we are committed to the Word of God, our prophetic identity and the urgency of seeing Jesus coming soon.
I experienced a moment that will be engraved in my memory with respect, gratitude, and commitment. I met with Pastor Jan Paulsen, who served the worldwide Seventh-day Adventist Church from 1999 to 2010, and Pastor Ted Wilson, who also led our world church from 2010 to 2025.
". . . to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some" (1 Cor. 9:22, NKJV).
Happy Sabbath, brothers and sisters. As we continue to pray for the cities around the world, let's remember the more than 7.5 million people in Hong Kong (see picture below). #HappySabbath
Happy Sabbath, dear Adventist family! The Sabbath is a memorial of hope. Even when life feels cold, the Sabbath warms the heart with the assurance of His care. “It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High” (Psalm 92:1, NKJV).
Maranatha!
Our Mission to the Cities Happy Sabbath post this week features Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Let's remember to pray for the 6.2 million people in this city, and the 13 to 14 million who live in its broader metropolitan area. #HappySabbath
Today, I had the privilege to honor Elder Ted N. C. Wilson and Nancy for a lifetime of ministry. For over 50 years, he served faithfully, a true man of God. He was grounded in the Bible, devoted to prayer, and focused on the mission. Thank you for your service. Maranatha!
While studying this week's Sabbath School lesson, I was struck by this important quote from Ellen White. I share it with you and invite you to do the same. Maranatha!
"Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people…" (Rev. 14:6, NKJV).
