Last month the Iowa Legislature passed a budget with a $1.2 billion deficit. They covered the deficit in part with money from the Taxpayer Relief Fund. If they continue at this pace the TRF will be drained of money in as few as three years. Is anyone concerned?
Since 1921, the Association has advocated for necessary, effective, efficient, and transparent public sector programs, especially those that demonstrate regional cooperation. The financing of this project meets all the criteria.
