Nobody asked, but my favorite part of today's Gospel is probably the no-holds-barred theological beatdown from the unnamed, likely-uneducated, formerly-blind, probably-a-saint to the Pharisees. Patron saint of the mic drop, bro.
@FrPBehm This image is from the Nagasaki tourism website. There is a statue of a man being crucified (he's wearing Japanese clothing and it doesn't look like he has a crown of thorns, so not Christ) at the end of the room. My guess is both crucified and stabbed.

@FrPBehm What an odd way for the folks in the article to phrase this topic. A sacrament can’t die any more than grace can die; whether or not the average person takes frequent advantage of this one has less effect on its existence than the blink of an eye does on infinity.
The Pope handing over gift cards he’d saved to his brother because he can’t use them now is the most midwestern thing I’ve ever heard. Do we think the pope has a plastic bag full of other plastic bags under his Papal sink?
"As of now, Sunday Masses are still on, but the faithful are reminded that there is no obligation to attend Mass if doing so would put you or others in danger." Okay, yes, all well and good, but maybe I WANT to pretend that I'm hiking over Caradhras in my fantasy cloak, y'know?
Tonight, I tried something called figs in a blanket. They are comprised of a bit of fig and some goat cheese in puff pastry. I burned my mouth and they are all gone. 9/10 excellent experience, will plan for another round eventually.
I finally got a secondhand Yamaha baritone from the Colts. My new Schilke 51D is on the way. Next summer is gloriously free from most commitments. My arms are still weak but they’ll get stronger, and maybe someday I’ll be out on that field again with an alumni corps.
And honestly, that’s fine, they don’t have to read anything they don’t want to. I just hate - so much - that Catholics have caused so much pain and trauma.
That’s all. Have a good day y’all.
an atheist friend declared they would never read a book with ANY religious character unless that character was extremely minor and their faith was deconstructed harshly. 2/
So I like to write stories. One is about a person with an awkward but deeply sincere faith life; this person is Catholic. It came up in conversation and 1/
Annnd there goes Magical Girl Dandelion being amazing again, this time making me tear up. Sorely needed on a day like today.
I am IN LOVE with this art style. With these heroes.
Thank you for the little bit of extra courage.
