@TonyTheExile He’s really strange how he’s capable of some class touches and moments. But feel like he gives the ball away and makes the wrong decision far too often too
Gross is still severely underrated by some for me, easily first name on the team sheet and running the show at 35. He’s been top class for years. Gomez on the other hand is really not good enough
@michaelbhafc02 I think that’s pretty harsh on Ferdi, agree he’s better on the left but imo he’s still the best full back at the club rn. He was top last season
Think it’s incredibly obvious to every Brighton fan that we need a CM and a winger before the window shuts. Don’t sign both of them and it’s a failure. We’re still sitting on an absolute fortune
Held on to a bit of hope that he could turn it around and regain that brilliant form. But, if he’s gonna go can we at least push for £80m and reinvest for another CM and Winger, quality depth NEEDED #bhafc
🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Manchester United closing in on deal to sign Carlos Baleba from Brighton & Hove Albion. #MUFC offer for 22yo Cameroon midfielder ~£60+5m; below #BHAFC valuation but amicable talks continue as all parties work to reach agreement @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/WmP1bD2JuT
If true this is totally unacceptable. Treating the youngsters as investments as a priority over winning is just disrespectful to the fans imo. No issues with Welbeck over this move, just a brainless decision to sell him by the club #bhafc
🚨 Excerpt from the @AndyNaylorBHAFC article on the sale of Danny Welbeck:
“Unfortunately for Welbeck, he exceeded expectations as a player, which left Brighton with a dilemma.
The value of their veteran top goalscorer and forward-line talisman last season is depreciating year by year.
Meanwhile, opportunities for Greek duo Charalampos Kostoulas, 19, and Stefanos Tzimas, 20, plus 24-year-old French forward Georginio Rutter — players bought for a combined total of around £90million in recent transfer windows — were limited by the continuing presence of Welbeck.”
“Welbeck hoped to have done enough to earn an extra year on his contract, until June 2028. It became apparent this would not be the case and that his game time was likely to be more limited in the upcoming campaign, in line with the club's policy of promoting youth.
Brighton would not stand in his way if an opportunity arose for him to move on, although they would also be happy if he stayed. Joining Chelsea on a two-year deal became, in the circumstances, an attractive proposition.”

Feels like we’re trying to be ‘nice’ all the time. Letting the man go who had practically no market value but scored 14 goals last year right before Europe. What are we doing?
Understand the club model with young players, it’s what you have to do unfortunately being a club with less revenue. But the Welbeck deal feels absolutely brainless. Where’s the clubs ambition and bottle? We’re totally in the driving seat to say he’s not leaving and that’s that.
We tried something different, it didn’t work. Please don’t talk about Europe being the aim if you’re going to back the manager sleepwalking us into trouble. Stupid money spent just to get worse
I’ve tried to like Hurzeler for a long time but surely the writing is on the wall now. Obviously I’m biased but I feel like our team against Bournemouth, Fulham, West Ham etc was better, and yet he regularly loses the tactical battle. Not getting the best out of so many players
@grahamhodgkin Yes seriously. We have signed 3 and sold about 5 attackers, so we’re still lighter than last season. Also the attackers we’ve signed are clearly ones for the future. I think a midfielder to go next to Baleba or a striker should be the aim for a big signing to play this year
Can’t help but think we still need 1 marquee signing this window. Baleba all but gone next year, we’ve sold a lot and look at our bench today with Rutter injured, only 1 attacker #BHAFC
