On this day last year, 14 people were on Bourbon Street getting ready to celebrate the New Year. They were all killed in a terrorist attack just after midnight when a man drove a pickup down Bourbon at a high rate of speed. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families today.
I somehow ran into Will Ramos at the SOAD concert and I said hi and he told me to enjoy the rest of the show and I nearly passed out and I have no one to share this with @LornaShore
I can’t stop thinking about the bag of hot dog rolls that flew off the roof of some person’s car as they were leaving the grocery store parking lot and landed in the middle of the intersection.
The Bourbon St. memorial was protected from last nights storm thanks to the structures. Even more flowers and items are now laid down. Messages now fill the walls. There are no words to describe this. #bourbonstreetattack#nolastrong
Billy was one of my best friends.
I’ve always kept this account fully anonymous. I wanted to be able to put my thoughts into the world with complete freedom and not have it affect my personal life. Well, that ship has sailed.
If I can get even one more person to say Billy’s name by using the reach and relationships I’ve built over the years on this account, I’m required to do it.
Billy is everything that makes this country great. A hard working, genuine, stand up human being. Everyone who’s ever been around him can attest to it.
He always talked about the future. His goals. Where he wanted to end up in life and what kind of man he was striving to be.
It sickens me that he was robbed of the opportunity to pursue his destiny of becoming a great husband and father.
The force that took him can only be described as pure evil.
Please share his story, remember his name, and hug your loved ones a little tighter tonight. Do whatever you can to leave a positive dent in the universe. No matter how small.
Please pray for his family during this time.
I will post information on how to help his family when available.
@jaxbyard This is so well said ❤️❤️ thank you for posting this. Billy was my cousin. I literally just saw him last week on Christmas. Still trying to process all of this. A bunch of my family is in NJ to support Sam & Anthony while his parents are in New Orleans 💔

Sometimes I feel like I’m poor and then I see fellow high school classmates selling things like broken Apple Watches for $30 on Facebook marketplace and then I’m like actually, I’m not doing too bad
