@Anthony__Koch Great piece. I read it this morning and felt like you were reading my mind, however I wouldn’t have been able to be express it as eloquently as you did. Keep it up.
I don’t care whose idea it was, or who put the pressure on whom. Congratulations and thank you to every MP who got this done.
Now please, do the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Gangs and criminal organizations are using it as a cheat code to optimize their illegal activity.
The municipal election on May 11th 2026 is fast approaching. For the past 10 years, I have had the honour and privilege to serve as Councillor and Deputy Mayor for the Village of McAdam. After much consideration, I have decided not to run for re-election this time. I hope to take some time for my family and continue to serve the community and region in other capacities.
I would like to thank the citizens of McAdam for the opportunity to represent you and for placing your trust in me. This community took a chance on me as a 21-year-old university student, and for that, I will be forever humbled.
I would also like to thank past and present Village staff and community volunteers. Whether it’s the Beautification Committee, Canada Day Committee, or McAdam Fire Department—you make it happen. Mayor and council can have a vision, but it takes a community working together to achieve success.
It has been an honour to serve the community alongside Mayor Ken Stannix, Councillor Greg Swim, Jody Robinson, Mitchell Little, and the late Doug Goss. I am proud of our accomplishments and grateful that even when we had spirited debates, we always came together in the end for the betterment of the community.
Last, but certainly not least, I would like to thank my family for their unwavering support and patience. Council commitments often kept me from family time and celebrations, but everyone was always understanding.
There are many opportunities on the horizon for McAdam. We are poised for growth, and I am excited to see our community continue to prosper. I offer my full support to the next Mayor and Council, and I remain committed to helping in any way I can.
I do not see this as a retirement from local politics, but rather a reprieve. I remain hopeful for the opportunity to serve you again in the future.
With gratitude,
Taylor
I sincerely hope that mine is just one of many portraits of Prime Ministers from both parties that will continue to be hung in the Parliament of Canada for decades and centuries to come […] but that will require that in these perilous times both parties whatever their differences, come together to preserve the independence and unity of this blessed land.
Elections are for later. Vote Conservative, vote Liberal - that choice will come. Put down your partisan swords today and take a moment and listen to this speech and what is being framed. These times are not like any other.
Hilarious watching the US Republicans upset that Canada is making trade deals with China. It’s like that ex girlfriend that doesn’t want you anymore, but doesn’t want you seeing other people either 😂
I'm proud of our team - It's a campaign to "Create and increase wealth - not taxes". Despite the provincial govt freezing property tax assessments, our primary source of income, we are committed to NOT raise the tax rate, but continue to maintain (and improve) current services. #mcadamnb #nbpolitics #NewBrunswick https://t.co/vAchKlDsx6
