As election day wraps up, I can't help but feel a little emotional thinking about how just a little over 100 years ago women were still being denied this right. Grateful for those that fought for this right! #MC576#ElectionDay
I think it's important to remember that elections are not only about voting for people but also these kinds of things. That have such a big impact.

Vermont was the only state in the country that had never elected a woman to Congress. Becca Balint, a Democrat, has now changed that.

I think it's cool to see organizations that don't have anything to do with politics understand the importance of voting and encourage citizens to vote!

@thelizparkes I love this Liz! The waiting period can be a very anxious time for some. A couple of my favorite forms of self care are exercising, hanging out with friends, and drinking coffee while journaling.
@ermadacia This is so exciting for our generation! It is crazy to think that he's just a few years older than me and already a member of the House of Representatives.

This article discusses political advertising on social media. One thing that I found interesting from the article is how social media ads has allowed smaller less funded campaigns a chance to reach an audience

@thelizparkes Liz, I think you're right and that voter fraud will be on citizens minds as they vote in this election. It will be interesting to see the effects that all of the conversations about voter fraud and "stolen elections" will have.
@EdenBrockman This article was very interesting to read. I feel like this is such a complex idea that it is hard to think about. In some aspects I do agree with Lippmann but in other aspects I don't.

@rjiiiksu Rj, thanks for sharing. I didn't know that TikTok was implementing this. I think that it's a good way to prevent some of the misinformation, because it is not allowing it at all versus just censoring one side.
@SydneyKatharin Sydney, thank you for sharing! This article is a good source from a psychology website because we discussed in class how that's originally where the word framing comes from. This article is helpful in how it talks about framing in the media and the effects of framing.
This website allows you to type in your address, and it shows you what will be on your ballot. It even has information for the candidates, and tells you when upcoming debates and forums are. This is helpful to learn more about local candidates!

@SadieStock10 These two articles are a great example of framing. After briefly reading the articles you can see just how differently the two news outlets covered the same issue. It's very interesting to me!
@realCSCuesta Carson, thanks for sharing! I found the definitions on the differences to be helpful. I think it's important to understand that misinformation is not always intended to make people believe something that is false, sometimes it's unintentional.

This research article looks at where Americans are getting their news, which a majority is from digital devices. Though this research shows that Americans are still relying directly on news sources for this information versus social media. #MC576
