@TNOQuoProQuid Yeah lol but for me at least I don't mind suspending my disbelief a bit just because realistic ai would probably be hard to code especially for smaller studios, and I don't mind it for the sake of enemy variety
@Dunnhier1 Agree that they're prob an industry plant but tbf idk if I'd call the designs generic? Ghost cat girl and scientist mouse is at least a little creative. Also wdym by the posts being squeaky clean?
@lemonogatari Silent protagonists are in a similar boat but usually fine in any case to me because they aren't necessarily a self insert just for being silent, like the main character of Half Life
@lemonogatari It can work for more open ended games where you get lots of dialogue and get to basically make your own character (Fallout for example) I think but more linear/small stuff it can definitely feel boring
@C_U271D I think it could still work for more plot/theme focused works as long as the creator actually focuses on writing those well after using the character as a starting point
@GenePark Definitely makes sense to say that they're similar because the devs said they were straight up inspired by prestige tv fantasy but I dunno about the other points. "Serious story with serious actors" isn't just a prestige TV thing tons of stories are serious
@goroplanet Wouldn't a one dimensional villain just be a pure evil one? Is that bad? Not defending the original people in the screenshots just confused
