@_B___S I found my best bud, Donatello, when he was 8. Kept him from going to a shelter. Had nearly 10 wonderful years before saying goodbye in February. What a great decade it was.
@bigdumperclears@TalkinBaseball_@trevorplouffe@TalkinJake I thought the double bag was a bit corny for a while, but as a HS baseball coach I'm glad we're implementing it next year. Had a few scary collisions, players by-and-large keep getting faster, stronger, and more athletic. It's a no-brainer to get scarier plays out of the game.
@PapaChar1ie@TalkinBaseball_@trevorplouffe@TalkinJake This is probably the first defense of the play at 1B I think actually has some merit. Enough can go wrong on the flip, I get taking it himself. Fielder should generally step/stay inside, but there was a possible collision either way and I'd get not wanting it to be his teammate.
@Oaknarrow@evandoubleu@editti22@CodifyBaseball Yeah, if I stick my arm out and the dude runs 10 ft out of the baseline I'm going to get the out at first knowing the rule dictates the runner should be out. Umps flubbed that, clear as day. He established his basepath and left it by a wide margin. Your video shows as much.
@Oaknarrow@evandoubleu@editti22@CodifyBaseball So you posted a video of a tag attempt to try and argue there was no tag attempt? Extending the arm when the runner is 8 ft out of the baseline and not having to chase him down to complete the play at first is the exact reason this rule exists.
Golf gods were very kind to Nelly Korda on 18. Feels like that putt doesn't find the bottom of the cup 9 out of 10 times. What a rush it had to be watching that roll around the cup to secure the US Open.
@Miggysbat It's amazing watching the replies to any post about Naylor being called out for his antics. I didn't know the Mariners had actual fans, and I didn't know that every single one that exists online was insufferable. Impressive, really.
@Buccigross Respectfully, no. He's capable of conducting a good interview, but is far too often agreeable with guests without facts or substance, and that's where the vigorous line of questioning ends. There's a world for Rogan, especially when he's actually curious, but it's not here.
@IYKbaseball I think he is. I'm worried the front office doesn't feel the same. Worded it poorly, basically saying my concern is they'll be willing to ship him off if they think they need to reload on prospects. I've always wanted to see him get a chance to play every day.
@adampensel They need a legitimate 1C to put Tage on the wing. Whether that 1C is on the roster or not, I feel like they need to go get a contributor who wins faceoffs. Between that and having Helenius on the roster full time, I'm okay running it back everywhere else.
@WeTheBrandon There's a really simple answer to this, he's said it out loud for a decade... Every grievance, real or imaginary, he's accused others of doing is the exact thing he's done when given the chance. Insider trading, DOJ weaponization, and now mail-in ballot cheating.
The loss is frustrating but stings less knowing it would have been pretty much impossible to get past both Carolina/Colorado. I feel positive tonight, but would've been nice to get a good game 7 OT feeling and then die on our swords.
Lock up Benson and the sky is the limit.
Stupid way to end a season. Finally get good enough at faceoffs to win important ones only to have your captain turn it over at the blue line, then lose on a throwaway shot when they covered the rush and got back. Ugh. Can't believe they didn't get at least 2-3 goals in the 2nd.
I know it's not a faux pas anymore for some reason, but I'm personally not a fan of having analysts on national broadcasts actively rooting for one of the teams competing. Save that stuff for the local shows. ESPN can't help themselves.
Sabres have really prioritized the faceoff circle the last few games, huge part of forcing game 7. If they're bottom of the league on the dot and still this dangerous, imagine what they can do with more set plays/free possessions.
@GenXJefe@TheChargingBUF Power is good. And as a 23 year old defenseman has a chance to still take some huge leaps. Gotta give young blue liners a bit of grace. Took Dahlin some time to come into his own, and he's still taking strides to become a more complete player.
Sabres showed more fight after the final whistle than they did in the last two periods. Maybe they should try applying that to the on-ice performance between the whistles next time.
