Tay’s Takes

Vancouverite who follows Canucks hockey like it’s going out of style.

Canucks continuously scratching Hogs and Raty has me scratching my head.. if you arent giving young guys chances now then what are you doing😑 #Canucks

[Tay’s Takes @TaysTakes]

In shock.. #Canucks

[Tay’s Takes @TaysTakes]

This Canucks team is hard to watch right now… they just look lost out there #Canucks

[Tay’s Takes @TaysTakes]

@ZigSportsVoice Such a weak goalie interference call😑

[Tay’s Takes @TaysTakes]

If Kane doesn’t start making more of an impact out there, I see a cap dump in his future🤷‍♂️#Canucks

[Tay’s Takes @TaysTakes]

Chytil’s speed, Lekkies shot… things to be excited about #Canucks

[Tay’s Takes @TaysTakes]

Feels like it has been years of “yeah but they didn’t address their defence”, to now “well they didn’t get a second line centre”… interested to see how things go in the early stages. Sort of feels like management is making them earn their upgrades in a thin market #Canucks

[Tay’s Takes @TaysTakes]

Jack Roslovic still hasn’t signed a contract.. I bet he will sign for less than we thought. If he comes at a discount, and there are truly no trades to be made right now, I would say Canucks should try for it. Our last late summer centre signing worked out pretty well.. #Canucks

[Tay’s Takes @TaysTakes]

In an ideal world we see development from our young defenders this year to the point where Myers is expendable at the deadline to a contending team. Open up more space to help that forward group.. we all know they need it. By then hopefully some more sellers have emerged #Canucks

[Tay’s Takes @TaysTakes]

I don’t know about you but I am excited to see this Canucks defence go to work. Will be fun to see who will make up that bottom pairing.. hoping to see DPetey & Mancini take that next step #Canucks

[Tay’s Takes @TaysTakes]

The number of articles about Quinn Hughes being traded is wild... find it hard to believe that would happen anytime soon. Someone name a credible source and we will talk.. and no Canucks Daily is not one of them😅#Canucks

[Tay’s Takes @TaysTakes]

I keep circling back on Pavel Zacha. Two way centreman, big body.. both things we could use right now. Let him and Chytil battle it out for 2C, could use the internal competition. My worry is acquisition cost with an already thin forward group. Raty, 2nd, and a sweetener?#Canucks

[Tay’s Takes @TaysTakes]

As great of fit McTavish could be, I find it hard to believe Anaheim will trade him. I see a Zacha or Mittelstadt as more likely..
BUT, if they did get McTavish, what would a package look like?
My ballpark guess is Willander, Hoglander & 2026 1st. Steep, but worth it? #Canucks

[Tay’s Takes @TaysTakes]

Scrolling through Canucks news only to find an article that mentioned Travis Hamonic as being a ‘fan favourite’… bold take. Maybe an opposing teams fan favourite. Who’s next…Loui Eriksson? Tucker Poolman? #Canucks

[Tay’s Takes @TaysTakes]

Seems like Marco Rossi has resurfaced in rumors.. He could be impactful, but that doesn’t solve our lack of size up front. Say we add Rossi, we still need another big body. A guy I liked for that role was Mantha. Too bad he signed.. thankfully it was with our farm team😁 #Canucks

[Tay’s Takes @TaysTakes]

Kravtsov sure feels like a low risk depth piece for the Canucks. Will we get the 27 goal scorer or the 2023 version… thats the question… what do you think? #Canucks

[Tay’s Takes @TaysTakes]

Gotta think that the lack of signing Jack Roslovic means that management is trying for something bigger… a real difference maker. One can dream #Canucks

[Tay’s Takes @TaysTakes]

A player many have been curious about is Zacha. Rumors of him and the Canucks started before he left NJ.
You have to think a package would include a roster guy.. maybe Hogs? That would hurt, but we need a 2/3C. Dropping Blueger also could give space for another winger #Canucks

[Tay’s Takes @TaysTakes]

A lot of speculation these days… Roslovic… McTavish…
Is there a way to have both?

With some cap juggling and trades of both Blueger & Chytil, it is possible…

Chytil in a BIG package for McTavish, Blueger in a cap dump

Make it happen #Canucks, the city would LOVE this!
