Our brother, @Abumusa_TaahirB, just reached out.
He requested that I ask everyone to continue to supplicate for our sister, Umm Tahir.
May Allah heal her, and grant her a swift recovery.
Tonight’s lecture was a tear jerker. Don’t miss the remainder of Shaykh Abul Hasan’s encouraging talks on lessons from Shaykh Muqbil’s life.
The scholars live beyond their deaths by their knowledge & through memories of the living. Recalling their virtues is from their rights.
7- Our goal is to make as many matches as possible, and the more flexible someone is the easier than becomes. We appreciate all of users for your patience and diligence, May Allah bless each of you with a righteous spouse.
2/2 Your other criteria. If you have flexibility in somethings, like age, number of children/marriages, etc, select wider ranges to increase your chances of receiving a match, or leave a note in the comment section to indicate your flexibility.
6- If someone checks all your boxes, consider rather they are worth rejecting because they are an inch shorter or a year younger (this happens.) Perhaps another opportunity may not become available, May Allah gives you success.
5- So we are encourage our users to be flexible. Have your top line criteria of course, but evaluate on the important stuff and be willing to be flexible on the smaller stuff.
4- Though we have a database, what we have access to is a reflection of what is available in the communities. If you’re looking for something very specific- especially if you’ve spent a significant amount of time searching without success - you may not find it here either.
3- We’ve noticed some users treat the site as something of a smorgasbord, where they can “order” their dream spouse, and are often unwilling to budge on even some of their basic requirements. This makes it extremely difficult to find a match.
2- There are a couple possible outcomes you can expect. You’ll either receive a match, which you can, be notified that no one meets your criteria at this time, or be asked to fully complete your profile.
Thread: What we are working on, a few observations and tips. This week we are attempting to match every brother currently in our system. We say every *brother* because he have 2x more women than men -as is common- and it’s just not possible to match every woman at this time.
1/2 Reasons you may not have received a match yet: As much as we can we try to stay within the guidelines you set, so if you say don't want someone who has been married more than twice, *usually* we'll skip matching you with someone married more than twice, even if they fit all..
Common reasons you may not have received a match.
1) Your profile isn't completely filled out. A few weeks after launching we added more in-depth questions and asked users to update, 50% never did. Make sure both profile and preferences are 100% filled out to receive matches.
Common reasons you may not have received a match:
3) Right now 90% of our users are 18-54. We are working to get more people 55+ to join, but as of now, there is a shortage of users in that age group, which means limited matches for those 55+ right now.
Common reasons you may not have received a match:
2) You have unique circumstances. This may be things like marital history, health, living in a unique location & being unwilling to relocate. This isn't meant to discourage as Allah is kind, it just means it may take a bit longer
Remember, while this is meant to make things easier, our user demographics are still the same as what is found in the communities and it is not a cure-all, particularly if your circumstances are unique. Be patient, continue to make dua, and ask Allah to give us all tawfeeq.
2/2 If we DO match you and you don't hear back, that just means the other party is dragging their feet in replying to the match. We ask our users to reply to matches quickly, if they don't, we attempt to rematch as soon as we find someone new.
