@simonahac@Monicas_WS But we only have it then because we had too many public holidays in the aftermath of Easter. And it's only when the ALP are in charge. LNP govt got rid of Labor Day in May and gave us the Queen's Birthday in June.
Not that it's political, of course.
@Superlexify @RISirius @JaneCaro@JasonClareMP Also, casual teaching isn't just relief teaching. It also means those on short term contracts, who struggle to get permanency. Although the teacher shortage has indeed rectified that somewhat.
@JasonClareMP@Kieran_Gilbert How many current teachers - those who are timetabled in classrooms right now - do you have on your expert panel? Uni professors are not experts. Not by a long shot.
@TooheyMatthew Me. I'm setting off on holiday today which should be exciting - but I dread Day 1 as I have to drop the cat off and it makes me feel sick with guilt
I know. It's just a cat. But still...
@iamemilymayo And the effect it has on existing teachers is ridiculous. First day of holidays, sick again. Worst gastro I've had in a long time. Immune system is completely shot partly because we are working so hard in term time to cover shortages.
@TooheyMatthew@AlanKohler I was watching this tonight. Is it wrong that my very first thought was "OMG what will Matthew have to say about this disaster?"🤣🤣
@DrEmmaKatz This happened to me and my girls - in their teens when we split. As soon as the youngest left to go to uni, they both cut off all contact with him. It's taken 5 years to stop him verbally and emotionally abusing me for that, but it seems like he's finally got the message.
@iamemilymayo I know - but not letting minors on the bus is a bummer. I guess it's in the fine print somewhere.
Just glad she's ok and arrived safe and sound!
