Chris Farley was initially chosen to portray Shrek, but tragically, he passed away before the film's completion. He managed to record 85% of his lines before his untimely demise in December 1997. Leaked footage of Farley's portrayal exists. Subsequently, Mike Myers stepped in to replace Farley and requested a script overhaul to infuse his unique interpretation of Shrek into the movie. The film was eventually released in 2001, profoundly impacting everyone involved. The Chris Farley Shrek version remains an unfulfilled curiosity, leaving us to wonder about the potential that could have been.
