@etotheipie@pockychinchilla@NoContextBrits Not my point. I'm responding to the general point that humidity in England on really hot days is often in the 80%s. I work in the most highly populated area of the country, and 28ยฐC can be hell there. Maybe not in the next ten days, but it happens every summer at the moment
@etotheipie@pockychinchilla@NoContextBrits ?? It's not hot in London right now and won't be in the next ten days. I have spent multiple hot days in London where the humidity throughout the day was in the high 80s
@neutrino78x @_theChief_ @GrandZeroGaming@NoContextBrits No, we don't tend to take months long vacations. People are struggling to afford trips abroad at the moment, as well, by the way.
@neutrino78x@Zephoslol@GrandZeroGaming@NoContextBrits "Only like 400" to buy, plus how much for the electricity to run it...? Simply isn't feasible for many many households in the UK. It's not worth spending for two weeks a year
@RnR144 @MrATeacher1@chrisjohnson00@RogersHistory Sorry, just for clarity, I don't mean dropped out of the programme, but left teaching some time after finishing the programme
@RnR144 @MrATeacher1@chrisjohnson00@RogersHistory Not trying to defend all of Teach First's system, but the message definitely isn't to be recruited in order to only be in post 2 years. Most people I know from my cohort still teach and those who don't dropped out due to workload stress, not for the better salary!
@Kaels1808@tombennett71 Can only speak for myself, but in Germany, in Years 11 and 12 I would have sat around 26 exams a year, plus probably up to 20 (lower stakes) tests plus twice yearly awarded participation grades for each of my 10 subjects. Each year! Plus the odd piece of graded homework
I left teaching and am still undecided on whether or not to keep this account. I want to, because I'm still working in education. Either way, I'll need a new handle!
@mattysino @Sparrow_N9ne @Popher You're missing the entire point of Bayesian statistics. Re your issue with the word 'probable', the example literally states a probability of 1 compared to 1/3. Acceptable imo to call it 'probable' that a cookie is no candy with this info!
Honestly the #psychology job field is so exhausting. Tired of vacancies for things like APs closing within 24 hours. Makes it so hard for people who can't drop everything for a day to write a stellar personal statement, or anyone with a disability! #assistantpsych
