#CABEDLI20 Umm I’m 3000andlate, but We need to introduce, point out, and discuss cognates and language rules in all of our lessons! I remember learning French as a Viet speaker and lightbulbs 💡 went off over just loan words!

It irritates me every time EL parents share with me how they were advised to completely cut all home language use at home so their child can learn English “faster”.

Wrong advice.
