A12: I’d like to continue to explore the tech and apps we already have as, admittedly, I have much more to learn. Looking to new apps, I’d like to explore those that are adaptive and give clear, easy to read reports with specific points for remediation & enrichment. #rEDTECHGUY
A11:I’ve had several opportunities this year for technology PD. My favorite PD is with coworkers. I truly enjoyed learning about Nearpod this year and plan to take more classes when offered. My kids really love Nearpod, so that makes it a great tool for me! #rEDTECHGUY
A10: I use data from apps to see what I can enrich and what I have to reteach. I do this in small groups and one on one. I particularly love using data from Nearpod and iknowit! to inform my teaching. #rEDTECHGUY
A9:Through avenues such as interactive learning experiences, adaptive learning, collaborative slide presentations, easy access to resources/databases, and immediate feedback on quizzes, tech has had a positive impact on student engagement & participation this year. #rEDTECHguy
A8: I’m lucky to be with a team that shares/collaborates a lot! We do PD (officially & unofficially) for and with each other, often, regarding technology, apps, & how to best use it to reach our learners & make it fun!#rEDTECHGUY
A7: I’ve also received mixed feedback regarding technology this year. Some love it, some like paper/pencil, others, meh. However, almost all have made it clear they love Nearpod, but do not enjoy IXL. #rEDTECHguy
A6: To be honest, most challenges I’ve run into with tech this year are on my end…just learning how to use all of the apps in the best way can be a challenge! I continue to address them by taking PD and training. #rEDTECHguy
A5:Tech helps me touch on all learning styles. For example:visual-online graphics, videos, other visual aids;kinesthetic-games, simulations, dance videos; auditory-online books, podcasts, study music. I also use student-paced apps, ie Nearpod, to further meet their needs.#rEDTECHGUY
A4: I love Google Slides and use/create them daily. My kids love Nearpod, especially Time to Climb. That makes me love it because the kids are engaged and having fun while practicing given skills. #rEDTECHGUY
A1:I have continued to implement tech into my daily lessons. I use tech to guide lessons & sometimes tech is used for student lead lessons, exploration, and research. We are fortunate to have great tools/apps at our fingertips such as Nearpod & Scratch. #rEDTECHGUY
A12: To be sure my teaching aligns with current standards and best practices, I continue to take classes, read, research, engage in book clubs, and seek out the expertise of my coworkers. #rEDTECHGUY
A11:To help students make connections between learning & their own lives, I try to ask open ended questions, use examples that include their interests, provide opportunities for reflection & have them share personal experiences that relate to the lessons. #rEDTECHGUY
A10:The real world is incorporated through nonfiction, historical fiction and realistic fiction, along with many SEL books. This often leads to great discussions as children make connections. #redtechguy
A9: We collaborate/work together daily. In 3rd, we do a lot of think, pair, share for almost every lesson segment. We just finished a group coding project and are currently buddy editing opinion writing pieces. #rEDTECHGUY
A8: When students tell me what resonates with them (good & bad), I use it whenever possible. The more students buy in and are engaged, the more likely true learning/discovery is happening. #rEDTECHGUY
A7: A positive & inclusive classroom starts with the relationship. Kids need to feel they matter, that they’re heard, and that you see them as more than just data. #rEDTECHGUY
A4:I differentiate and adjust my instruction through multiple levels, choices as much as possible, and different ways to show understanding of the same standard. #rEDTECHGUY
A6:Technology plays a fundamental role in my teaching from daily slides to Nearpod to coding and beyond. It’s used on both the teaching side and the learning side on a daily basis. #rEDTECHGUY
