It’s not all fully independent as he does need to verbally tell me and I have to write some sentences down for him as he is still learning his HFW but it’s more the fact he’s written that amount without getting tired and wanting to.
The first photo is what a child in my class did when he first started year 4 in September. He has an EHCP plan and struggles a lot. We have a built a great relationship and the second photo is the piece of work he did this week. Incredibly proud of him ☺️

This wasn’t today but this week- I mentioned my parents in a conversation with a child in my class and his response was
‘I didn’t know teachers had parents?’
Many folk believe that we are living in a golden age of children’s literature. Huge numbers of talented authors are producing exciting, diverse, funny, challenging, & engaging stories, for tots to teens. Please @asda, could you look at stocking a slightly broader range than this?
Make sure you don't just get a handful of books by black authors to show your support black history month: make sure your shelves are properly diverse and representative all year round instead and that human history is taught from multiple viewpoints. Be inclusive, not tokenistic
I saw this online showing when each current year last had a full year in school. I don’t know if it is just me but these gaps are very obvious with my class this year, waaay more than my class last year. Anyone else? #edutwitter
@MissBH_ Thank you, I wasn’t sure when it was meant to be taught. We do some in 4 but they haven’t understood similes or metaphors yet so I think they will find it difficult x
