@pgliljedahl diving into the beginning steps of building a thinking classroom. Starting with card tricks- true or false is a great thinking problem! Four Aces and Pick a Number- are they more slight of hand/place cards strategically before dealing? Is that the thinking?

@sarah16moon Did you have a new half sheet each day for them? I have these dry erase sleeves, maybe I could use those and they’d just redo each day? Trying to save on paper but it’s also important to write down! Love the idea.

#QRBreakIN was a huge success! Took a while longer than expected but my 5th graders said the day flew by. Constantly engaged and working hard in groups to obtain the next artifact. Regular review would not have been as exciting. @MeehanEDU #emc2learning

@pernilleripp Tough to do when you’re new to a grade level. Prepping for reading and writing workshop, science labs, and rigorous math for 5th graders takes a lot of time and effort to teach well. Hopefully someday I’ll have my evenings and weekends back!

@pernilleripp Have you heard of Eels (Superpower Field Guide)? It tells readers about the amazing and mysterious lives of Eels. There are also field guides on Beavers and Ostriches. My 5th graders love them!
