Looks like Hanukkah came a little early this year! Thank you @GMS_Wildcats foundations and @DrLoraleeHill for helping the MID class bring back Griffin Grinds!
We are currently pet sitting Mr. T the hamster and one of my creative students made him a maze! Do you think Mr. T will make it to the treat at the end?
This week we read about The World Games and decided to have our own Griffin Games. Students researched different ways to make paper airplanes and then put them to the test! @GMS_Wildcats
School culture is a hungry beast. It will eat and become whatever you feed it: kindness, support, love, anger, deceit, resent, and so on. Be mindful of what’s on your menu each day.
For #WorldKindessDay we wrote thank you notes for various @GMS_Wildcats staff and then were “Kindness ninjas” as we ran around the school to deliver them!
Happy Fun Food Friday! Every Friday we make a yummy treat while writing a grocery list, journaling about what we could be making, going price searching, adding how much we will spend, putting our recipe in order, and then baking! Todays menu was: Strawberry Cloud Cake 🍓
Today we worked together as a class to create OUR bulletin board. It was amazing to see what a sense of pride the students had as they all had a part in making this board. Great way to practice math, art, english, and so much more all in one! @GMS_Wildcats
We love Fun Food Friday! Where we work on life skills such as making grocery list, shopping for the best deals, counting money, paying for groceries, and following a recipe all while making a yummy treat! @CobbSchools@GMS_Wildcats
@AfanadorCarrie Yes ma’am! It’s always a great time building/crafting with dad. Check out Sokol Creations on Facebook or Instagram to see others he has made!
Something I love about education is the value of being a lifelong learner... This weekend I was able to learn from one of my first teachers, my dad, and made a super cool pen in the process! He is selling his custom made pens- ask me how to get one of your own or to see others!
Today I had a student who started to cry because she forgot to put earrings in, so what did I do? I simply took mine out so we could be “twins” for the day. She immediately started to laugh! Sometimes the simplest things make the biggest difference in students.
