DC Teachers fight every day for the rights of their workers to provide the best education to their students. Our power is seen in the minds of our students.
Today I was asked what's my goal for public education in my city. The answer: Educational liberation for each and every Black and brown student! An environment that allows students to thrive, not just survive! #PublicSchoolAdvocate#AbolitionistTeacher
1/ I began as a new Teacher to DCPS in 2012. Two years later, I was the Building Rep. at my school. I began showing up to Rep. Assembly meetings on the regular, attending COPE meetings, and sharing my ideas with President Davis.
Congratulations. You've helped 125 families get free child care. It should be fully funded and a right to all families. Make one bold step, Mayor Bowser... This would be one.
Standing outside @cmdgrosso office. We get he was in a hearing, but he could’ve stepped out for a few in solidarity. Saw him exit the building around 6:30 pm. Said he is fighting for funding. But the REAL question is he fighting equally hard for ACCOUNTABILITY for those funds? 🤔
