@CanadaDistress@CTVNews Has happened literally every yr for the past 16yrs I've been teaching. Problem now, is that ppl stopped thinking. Now they want to blame the 2 weeks without mandates...how about this time last yr when we entered a wave despite masks & didn't go back to class until Sept.
@CTVNews As for the kids, the number of absent kids in my class is on par with what I've experienced in the past 15yrs. 1-4 kids away daily. Once or twice a week I have a full class. Nothing different, unless my school of 700 is somehow magical compared to all the rest.
@CTVNews With all due respect-It's not b/c of Covid or unmasking. I know 5 of my staff who were off this weekNOTdue to illness at all. As well, previously, teachers would go to work pretty sick b/c supply plans are an inconvenience to prep while ill. Now people are actually staying home
@pbh09@CTVLondon@fordnation Darn...thought you were going to say the smart thing which is, isn't it odd they still have mandates and their numbers are higher?
@CTVLondon Why would anyone blame 2 weeks of slightly less masking? Have u forgotten the 2 rs of wave after wave WITH masks? This exact time last yr we went into lockdown and schools were done until Sept. It's seasonal. Quebec still has masks and they're also at an increase. Stop the blame.

@CTVLondon I'm a teacher. There are no more absences now than over the past 2 years. Unless I'm at a magical school of 700 that is unlike any other place in the Province. I average 2-4 absent students a day, and once or twice a week I have my full class. Been like this for 15yrs.
@Maureenjustme@picardonhealth@OttawaCitizen@egpayne How about explaining your logic, when this is the 3rd April in a row, including when we were fully mandated. Nothing is working. It is seasonal and that's it. Take proper care of yourself; food and hygiene. That's all you can do.
@Lutemusic @picardonhealth@OttawaCitizen@egpayne@fordnation Too soon? We were literally last in the world. Do you forget that this is our 3rd April in this pandemic and the EXACT same pattern occurred when we were in full mandates and lcokdowns?
@ChanLouisa201@picardonhealth@OttawaCitizen@egpayne Guess you must forget when the EXACT same issue was happening this time last year in schools ? That's why we shut down from April to summer. But you want to pretend there is a direct correlation with 50% unmasking for 2 weeks? No.
@DFisman Still wondering when u feel we can end masking. This is our 3rd April in a row w/rising numbers & a wave. Doesn't seem to matter if we're masked, vaxxed,or locked down. This time last yr ALL mandates were in place HARD & we still shut down even schools from 2nd week Apr to summer.
@Sherry95897045 @CP24 Everyone I know vaxxed 3x, 2x, or 0x all had mild covid. My unvaxxed friends had it the least severe for the fewest # of days. Seems bad covid is limited only to those with serious underlying conditions. Nothing else seems to matter.
@CP24 "Two doses are effective at preventing severe illness, but three doses can cut the risk of infection" - then why does Ontario data show that the triple vaxxed rate per 100k is insanely higher for infection. ??
@CosmoKramerOG@globalnews Not true. There is no data showing deaths linked specifically to the anti-vax mindset. There are also many of us vaxxed people who died as well.
@CTVNews Serious question. This is Spring#3 dealing w/Covid. Do experts look back@ seasonal patterns?Cuz I'm just a regular person who easily recalls waves in Apr '20/21& now 22.Happened b4 vax, at height of vaxing, & now w/90%+ vax.Seems we've been doin it all wrong & it's time to move on
