Happy Birthday, Woody!
Members of the Woody Guthrie Teaching Collective headed to Nashville in September to present at the AMERICANAFEST conference. The Collective hosted a roundtable on the legacy of Woody and his influence on the music of Jimmy LaFave. Jaimee Harris sang “Worn Out American Dream.”
Since I saw that clip of Oliver Anthony singing 'Rich Men North of Richmond', the ghost of Woody Guthrie has been whispering in my ear. So today I sat down and wrote this response https://t.co/IVLTTJrXCo
Happy birthday, Ramblin' Jack Elliott! He turns 92 years old today. Supposedly, Woody once said, "Jack sounds more like me than I do!"

Founding member Aimee Zoeller took students to Big Thief’s soundcheck before their show in Indianapolis to discuss music, the creative process, and social change.
🩷 Thank you @billybragg for standing shoulder to shoulder with cleaners & security officers on International Justice Day.

This is a hand-written translation of the original French lyrics to the Internationale as given to me by Pete Seeger. To find out why Ol' Pete felt I needed them you'll have to buy, steal or borrow the book that comes with the Roaring Forty box set
Celebrate TEN years of the Woody Guthrie Center with us May 5-7. We're excited for an unforgettable weekend filled with music, art and community as we honor Woody's legacy.

Very moving to hear from Stan Grant how his Aboriginal grandfather was shamefully dispossessed by the Australian authorities. His introduction gave Woody’s words a powerful contemporary context.
