Really tough to stay positive when parents just berate you and complain

Math BOY test average was 58%. Took the EOY test today. Average was 95%. So proud of the little brainiacs.

When my students get something right I say “was there a little birdie on your ear telling you the answer?” And they know now to respond “no. It was my big juicy brain!” And honestly. They are so smart

I’d also like to say. Stop complaining about every little thing. Move on. Do what’s best for the kids. Stop harping on such small details that don’t matter.

Told my students today if I wasn’t a teacher I’d be a broadway singer and they said “ya you’d be a Harry Styles girl” and they just get me

I have an ELL student and he came to school knowing no English but yesterday he said “I love donuts!” And pointed to my lanyard (that has donuts) and I was like “si!!! Tambien”

Taught my kinders that I call zero “a big ol goose egg” and now that’s all they say and honestly… if that’s the only thing they remember from kindergarten I will rejoice
