“I can learn (in Dakelh) and represent the parts of my community (school) to contribute to a positive and reconciling learning environment. I can represent my relationship with certain places in my community through drawing.”
Place of community signs created by our students💛
In #EDUC391 I did a lesson that focused on SEL. We talked about healthy ways to cope, we talked about problem solving, and the students made their own coping skills poster! #createsafespacesintheclass
Thank you Harwin Elementary students, teachers, support staff, and administration. We could not have achieved in situ learning in #EDUC391#EDUC421 without you. We learned so much about teaching and learning. Your generosity and hospitality were greatly appreciated. #unbced#sd57
#UNBCED Elementary Teacher Candidates visit @tworiversart on January 16, 2023. Thank you Learning & Engagement Manager Sofia for guiding us today. HOPE. Learning about the exhibit, place, and learning experiences at the art gallery. #inspired
Look at this crew posing in front of the “School of Education” sign. Yesterday was the last day of classes. Today is the last day of #EDUC390 for Block 1 TCs. It’s the #EDUC491 Celebration of Learning for Block 5 TCs. Happy holidays everyone in the @EducationUnbc. #UNBCED
Congratulations #EDUC394 EY Cohort for completing your IGNITE presentations. You and your SY Cohort colleagues are finishing up Block 1 in the #UNBCED Teacher Education Program. Wishing you all the best on your final assignments and presentations. It’s almost winter break. ☃️
I built two snowmen by myself tonight! This is your sign to *grow back down* once in awhile and enjoy the simple things! #nevertoooldtobuildasnowman#getoutside
Mussi cho to everyone who contributed to this amazing day of learning on the land. Teachers, parent volunteers, teacher candidates, UNBC faculty, researchers, and Elders, you all made this day incredible. Students learned how to build a fire, track, and drum. Oh yea, the caribou!
Witnessing the Kennedy Siding Caribou herd was such an incredible experience! We also did some really great land based learning with the kids! Thank you to @michellesandu for inviting us, as well as @teacherkelseyy and Clifford for being so knowledgeable and inclusive!
So grateful to have #UNBCED Alumni Kelsey MacDonald return to UNBC to speak to elementary & secondary teacher candidates in #EDUC405 about her journey in K-12, in the Teacher Education Program, and her current work as a K-12 Land Based Educator. Whew. What a ride. Thank you.
What do you notice? #UNBCED
- Christine is wearing PJs (2-days late) 🎃
- I see two Crocs in the air 🐊
- I see that everyone dressed up like Christine, but Christine. 🙄

Some fun skeletons the kindys made when I was subbing @HartHighlands57 on Friday! The kids were put in groups of 3-4 and they had full control over their skeletons! Lots of collaboration, communication, and learning took place! #HappyHalloween 💀🤍
