In science, we have begun our space unit. We are starting by learning about the sun and it’s patterns. The first pattern we are noticing is how shadows change depending on where the sun is. Kids had a blast using the flash ligh to match the shadows. #shepardshines

In writing, we’ve been learning about nonfiction text features. On Friday, we learned that different types of print are there to grab our attention. Then kids got to look through magazines to find examples to glue in their books. #shepardshines

Doing a Watch, Think, Color after Reindeer Games today. Kids practiced reading numbers and finding them on a number grid to make a mystery picture. #shepardshines

Our unit 7 story in Fundations is called King Sam. We read the story as a class, marked our new glued sounds (-ing, -ang, -ung, -ong) and practiced reading to friends. #shepardshines

A few more projects from our travels around the world. We made a Tomten from Sweden, a gingerbread house from Germany and stockings from Italy! We love learning about different Christmas traditions! #shepardshines

We practiced making combinations of 10 by playing the game 10s Go Fish. Kiddos had so much fun discovering different ways to make 10. Such an awesome game to play at home! #shepardshines
