@BigMoneyNick In my city, Uber is worse than taxis – also because taxis charge more I guess. Next time, hope your Uber driver is not smoking in the car while you‘re in the back. Greetings from Germany :)
Their vision model is the worst.
Perplexity 1 year ago was peak.
Now, they save every penny they can just because they gave out all those free pro subscriptions? 20 dollars a month for 10 daily pro searches and a few file uploads? Thanks, no.
Downfall understood, but deserved.
I used @perplexity_ai for 2 years straight. Never switched in the last 2 years. Paid Pro Subscription.
Today, I finally make the switch.
Today they even implemented a serif font (after doing daily partial design changes making the ux feel worse).
Models give bad answers.
How bad GitHub Copilot is - its crazy.
Compare it to other IDEs by companies that existed for 1/10th of the time GitHub existed and your mind will be blown away.
Underfunding at scale.
@blankresident from minimalism to maximalism, started with databases and ended in feature and app ecosystem insanity
notions downfall should be studied
Google Gemini Code Assist CLI is better than Cursor or most IDEs. It provides more understanding, broader context, and identifies issues in development environments.
I see it as a true copilot—smarter and capable of more than just "implement X by doing Y."
It doesn't annoy me.
@gnukeith I really find it insane how people that never coded nor have a technical background think they can launch a SaaS or similar by using AI or especially Cursor.
I saw a tweet where someone shut down his SaaS because he did the latter and failed because Cursor broke things.
