Mick Karn 24/7 2022 - thinking of Mick on his birthday as always. Unique, loved, irreplaceable.

Here he is making bewitching music with Kate Bush:

@david_wetherell So glad for you, David. I never saw Japan (or Mick๐ญ) but I can relate to what you must have felt. I still can't process his passing, he seems as vivid and glorious as ever...Mick Karn will shine on.โค๏ธ
@minoyoko999@DarrellCBassist HI๐ Mick was known for Travis Bean+Wal. Although both Zon & Mick were developing at the same time, Mick was pretty much always financially challenged (it was hard to afford new strings) but he may have been loaned one, be great if anyone can confirm.
Keep Karn & Don't Fret!
@NewWaveAndPunk I adored this band for several years - saw them live a few times. Quiet Life and Gentlemen Take Polaroids both remain outstanding pieces of work, in my humble opinion. Mick Karn was a wonderful bass player. <3
@StarlightElisa Such a unique and creative and musician. I managed to see Japan on their last UK tour and Mick Karn was such a mesmerising performer. Loved his solo stuff and his collaborations with his former Japan band mates. What a talent.
I was reminded that Mick Karn died 12 years ago today
Without the doubt ...still the best bass player I have seen on a stage - his unique bass sound (plus his Oboe and sax) was a massive part of the sound of Japan
