Very few members of the General Assembly backed the bipartisan redistricting commission BOTH times it had to pass on the floor. But @JasonMiyaresVA did. He’s one of the few honest brokers on this in Richmond in either party.

My fellow Virginians,
It has been an honor to serve as your Attorney General for the past four years.
Together, we made Virginia safer by standing with our brave law enforcement officers, keeping violent criminals behind bars, reducing the flow of fentanyl and other deadly drugs, and defending our constitutional freedoms. Those efforts saved countless lives.
I could not have done this without your support, friendship, and prayers. Virginia is stronger and more secure because of the work we did together.
My mother fled communist Cuba as a penniless teenager. She came to America seeking a better life and the opportunity to achieve her dreams. I often refer to that journey as the American Miracle. Only in America do we have the freedom and opportunity to pursue our dreams, if we are willing to work for them.
It wasn’t always easy for my mom when she arrived. There were setbacks and disappointments, but she taught me that when we get knocked down, we have to get back up, work harder, and stay true to what we believe.
As my time as Attorney General comes to a close, I am more determined than ever to fight for what is right, defend our principles, and protect the American Miracle.
I believe in Virginia and in our future. I am committed to fighting to protect it — and I’m not going anywhere.
With eternal gratitude,
Jason S. Miyares, 48th Attorney General of Virginia
💬 Virginians, four years ago, you chose me to be your Attorney General, the People's Protector, and from my first day, I made a promise that the Attorney General's office would put victims first, make crime fighting our top priority, and focus on keeping Virginians safe. And for four years, I've honored that promise every single day.
When I took office, Virginia's murder rate was at a 20-year high, and we had the highest levels of addiction deaths ever recorded in the history of Virginia.
So, we launched Operation Ceasefire. We pushed every crime-fighting asset we had into the communities that needed them the most — and it worked. Today, violent crime and our murder rate is down double digits.
But we didn't just hold criminals accountable. When rogue prosecutors ignored innocent victims and refused to enforce the law, we held them accountable too.
To combat the opioid epidemic, we went after the drug dealers poisoning our kids, getting enough fentanyl off the streets that could have killed seven million Virginians.
We also launched One Pill Can Kill to educate our kids on the dangers of fentanyl and counterfeit pills.
We took on the major pharmaceutical companies that had pushed opioids into our communities and treated Virginians like we were a chemistry experiment. We took them to court and we won big.
Now, Virginia is the number one state in the drop of addiction deaths of any state in the entire country — number one!
A safer Virginia became a more attractive Virginia, strengthened by record investments in education, law enforcement, manufacturing, and healthcare — and Virginia is stronger and more secure because of it.
We took on Big Tech.
We checked corporate overreach.
We ran a government you could be proud of.
We also safeguarded our inheritance, our constitutional liberties, and our religious freedoms.
Looking back, I couldn't be more proud of the work we've done and what we've accomplished together.
To the men and women of the Office of the Attorney General, thank you. We dreamed big and we won big. And I'm forever grateful.
To my fellow Virginians, none of this would have been possible without you, and I'll be forever grateful.
Being the People's Protector has truly been the honor of my life. God bless you, Virginia. We have a great future together. Because without a setback, there can be no comeback. And I have to tell you, I can't wait.
Four years ago, you chose me to be the People's Protector, and we faced an uphill battle.
Today, violent crime is down double digits. Addiction deaths fell faster in Virginia than anywhere else in America. We fought to safeguard our freedoms and defend the American Miracle.
Virginia is stronger and more secure because of the work we did together.
I believe in Virginia and in our future. I'm not going anywhere. Because without a setback, there can be no comeback!
25 years after graduating from the Sorensen Institute, I was honored to return as the 2025 PLP graduation speaker to talk about service over self in leadership.
Thank you for the warm welcome!
It was wonderful meeting voters with @SpeakerDonScott in Portsmouth.
Control of the House of Delegates and the Governor, Lt. Governor, and Attorney General offices are on the line – and winning these races means real progress for our Commonwealth. Let’s finish strong!
