The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has nothing to do with either "youth" or "janta", they only want to party. The movement appears more interested in gaining attention and enjoying online popularity than in contributing anything meaningful to society.

I do not see any significant work done by CJP in favor of young people or the general public. More importantly, the movement seems to lack a clear ideology, vision, or long-term objective. Most of its content revolves around social media trends, memes, and viral engagement rather than addressing real issues faced by youth and public.

Their supporters often highlight demands for the resignation of education minister Dharmendra Pradhan and other ministers as evidence of activism. However, merely asking to resign is not a major achievement and does not constitute meaningful public service or social change.

The reality, in my opinion, is that CJP began as a Gen Z satirical internet trend that went viral after a controversial remark by the Supreme Court Chief Justice about cockroaches. Within days, it attracted millions of followers, not because of a political agenda or social mission, but because people found the concept amusing and entertaining.

The CJP page was originally created for memes, sarcasm, mockery, and online humor. They were never intended to be serious organizations working for youth or public welfare. The creators themselves likely did not anticipate receiving such massive support and attention.

Once their page gained millions of followers, they appeared confused about what direction to take. To avoid becoming the subject of ridicule themselves, they started posting random political and social content, attempting to portray themselves as protesters, activists, or defenders of youth interests. However, this appears more like an effort to maintain relevance and credibility than a genuine commitment to public causes.

Some people are comparing the proposed CJP protests with historic public movements in India. I disagree with such comparisons. The anti-corruption movement led by Anna Hazare mobilized millions of citizens across the country, generated sustained public participation, and had far reaching political consequences. The people of India have witnessed the impact of that movement and its aftermath.

In comparison, the so-called Gen Z protest associated with CJP stands nowhere near the scale, seriousness, organization, or public influence of the Anna Hazare movement. At present, it remains to be seen whether it can evolve beyond online slogans and social media trends into something with genuine substance.

I view CJP as a viral social media phenomenon driven by memes and internet culture rather than a serious movement with a defined ideology, meaningful achievements, or a genuine record of serving the interests of youth and the public.

For now, the Delhi Police have granted them permission for a peaceful protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. Whether this gathering translates into a meaningful movement or remains largely an internet phenomenon is something that only time will reveal.

As his camera gazed at me, I felt like a canvas of love, painted with the vibrant colors of our relationship. He clicked, and I posed. बारिश में चाय की चुस्कियों के बीच 'एक बंगला बने न्यारा' गाने के बोल कहीं दूर से कानों में सुनाई पड़ रहे थे। पल भर में ऐसा लगा जैसे हम बनारस की गलियों में पहुंच गए हों। जहां एक कदम पर कभी गरम कचौरियों की ख़ुशबू आती है, तो दो और कदम चलने पर अदरक इलाइची वाली चाय की, फिर कुछ और आगे बढ़ने पर कहीं मीठी लस्सी की ख़ुशबू से मन खिल उठता है, तो इसी बीच चलते-चलते बदलती हुई सुगंध और रेडियो में बजते-बदलते नए पुराने गाने दिल के अलग-अलग तारों को झकझोरते और छूते जाते हैं। जहां किसी को ना कहीं जाने की जल्दी होती है, ना कहीं पहुंचने की ज़िद, ना कुछ पाने की बेचैनी होती है, और ना ही कुछ खोने का डर, जहां मस्तमौला की तरह मस्ती में मुस्कुराते अजनबी भी जाने पहचाने लगते हैं। कई बार सिर्फ ठहर जाने में कितना सुकून होता है, इस बात का एहसास कराती बनारस की गलियों की बात ही कुछ और है।
मुम्बई में ज़िंदगी की तेज भाग-दौड़ के बीच कई बार मैं और मेरे पति ऐसी जगहों की तलाश में होतें हैं जहां भीड़ से दूर शांत माहौल में गर्म चाय की चुस्कियों के साथ एक दूसरे की बातों में खो जाएं। उस पर सोने पे सुहागा तब, जब मिल जाये कुल्हड़ वाली चाय। कुल्हड़ में चाय की बात ज़रा अलग होती है। मुझे सबसे प्यारी महक सौंधी मिट्टी की लगती है, इस महक की जगह आज तक कोई और महक नहीं ले सकी। बाकी बातें जो बाकी हैं, होती ही रहेंगी। चाहे बनारस हो या मुंबई, भाषा हिंदी,अंग्रेज़ी, मराठी हो या भोजपुरी, ज़माना नया हो या पुराना, चाय जारी रहेगी और चर्चा भी।
