A meaningful milestone for the BCYW Foundation’s Breaking the Myths Series.
Article 7 of the series – Inflammatory Breast Cancer in Young Women: Why This Fast-Spreading Disease Is Often Missed and Misdiagnosed - has been featured on the OncoDaily platform. https://t.co/O1KB25fSKu
This series was created with a simple purpose: to challenge common assumptions that can delay awareness, confuse risk perception, or prevent timely evaluation—especially among young women.
Breast cancer in young women is not always explained by the stories we hear most often. Myths around age, family history, symptoms, breast density, imaging, and risk can quietly shape how women interpret changes in their own bodies.
That is why evidence-based awareness matters.
Our goal is not to create fear. It is to create clarity.
We are grateful to OncoDaily for helping amplify this message and for supporting broader conversations around young women’s breast cancer awareness, education, and early recognition.
The more these conversations reach families, campuses, workplaces, and communities, the more likely we are to help someone recognize a change early and seek timely medical advice.
Breaking myths is not just communication. It is prevention-minded awareness.

Early Momentum. A Global Signal Begins.
The 2040 Initiative – First Circle BCYW Awareness is already gaining ground—quietly, meaningfully, and across continents. This is how change begins—not with campaigns alone, but with people reaching people.
The goal: 100,000 individuals reached through trusted, everyday networks.
No fundraising. Just informed voices, shared in your first circle.
“Awareness begins with the people we already know.”
More soon.

A New Global Model for Breast Cancer in Young Women—The 2040 Initiative Launches
The BCYW Foundation is reaching out with a simple, urgent idea: to empower young adults and women in our everyday circles with the knowledge they need for a breast cancer–free tomorrow.
By 2040, many women diagnosed under 40 will be around 19 years old today. They are already among us—within the communities we serve.
The 2040 Initiative – First Circle BCYW Awareness is built on a simple but powerful idea: awareness begins with the people we already know. The full press release is now live, https://t.co/e2ZJQbIuAN
We invite individuals, businesses, corporations, non-profits, and community organizations to take one intentional step—reach 10–25 individuals each month within your own network by sharing BCYWF’s ready-to-share Breast Health and Cancer Awareness Material - vetted by medical experts.
No fundraising. No reporting burden. Just share your monthly or quarterly reach numbers.
This is about building awareness as a habit, not a one-time campaign. Together, we can create a ripple effect of early awareness, prevention, and timely detection among young women—before risk becomes reality.
To recognize contributions, participating organizations will be acknowledged at key milestones:
100+ people reached – Recognition on our website (with logo/photo)
250+ people reached – Certificate of Contribution
500+ people reached – Certificate co-signed by
Global Ambassador, U.S. Astronaut Lawrence J. DeLucas
1,000+ people reached – Certificate co-signed by
Nobel Laureate Prof. Aaron Ciechanover and Lawrence J. DeLucas
We will be happy to include your organization’s name and logo as a collaborator in co-branded materials shared with your employees, members, communities, and followers. This is more than awareness—it is a mission to empower early detection and save lives.
🚀 If you, as an individual or your organization, would like to join, please write to [email protected], and we will share the materials to get started.
Together, we can change the future—one circle at a time.
