Jonathon the tortoise turned 188 years old today. He is the oldest living terrestrial animal. The older picture shows him in 1882, already an adult. Happy Birthday! He lives on a British Island in the southern Atlantic.
Even 4th graders love it when you Zoom with their work up on a virtual background. #remotelearning can’t replace the classroom but we can mimic it as best we can. This moment brought a little joy to my 4th graders and to me. Plus it gets them to turn in their work on time.
🗣Primary Educators-it’s never too early. We hold so much power in our classrooms. We must continually educate ourselves, listen to S’s, & guide open convos-our littles will amaze you. “T’s are essential workers in the fight against racism.” #BlackLivesMatter#BlackStudentsMatter
At 4 months old, Jones is proud to be part of the CPS family and I am excited for when he gets to attend (even though it’s years away) 💕 #CPSbest#WeAreOne

Our class missed our field trip to the Runge Nature Center on 4/3 but @Szydlowskim posted virtual field trips, including one to the Runge Natire Center, here: https://t.co/RPe6JcNV6g There are many other amazing resources to explore as well.
KIDS STUCK AT HOME? Check out our Xplor kids magazine at https://t.co/kqyak0v9av for hours of interesting reading, fun games, and other things kids can do right at home.
The CPS closure will last through April 24th right now, which means that our field trips for April will have to be cancelled. However, you can still take virtual field trips with your children. https://t.co/Qmh8CJL3A7
We’ve been discussing the different types of reactions that occur when combining matter. Yesterday, we saw that combining mentos with soda makes a chemical reaction! The reaction with Diet Coke was the biggest!
Heroes’ Day 2019 ♥️ It is so special being able to celebrate all of our class’s heroes and veteran family members. I’m so proud of Amber for sharing her essay about what makes America a unique place to live.
This week, we discussed nouns, verbs, and adjectives and how we can change them to make our writing more interesting. We used our senses to check out a pumpkin. The experience inspired some descriptive adjectives! @BeulahRalphElem
Cal, from Mrs. Lindaman’s Class, caught some of the frogs we’re learning about in science. We were super excited to be able to see them and learn even more about them from our second grade friend!
