The GOP Gov nominee is being called out for a smorgasbord of hate but their nominee for Secretary of State can’t find the words. This from @votedanbrady: “Well, Darren Bailey is running for governor on the Republican ticket, and I’m a Republican,” https://t.co/ccVf8lu6Bf
Absolutely unacceptable for a potential appointee to a board to spew such bigoted hatred. I should hope that all Naperville city council members publicly reject this appointment and truly think about what it means to hand over the Dias to hate speech.
Today, I celebrate Indigenous People's Day by acknowledging the the most prominent tribes in Illinois (past and present) including the Illinois, Miami, Winnebago, Fox and Sacs (Sauk), Kickapoo, Shawnee, and Pottawatomie tribes.
This historic climate bill will:
✅ Put Illinois on a path toward 100% clean energy
✅ Put 1 million electric vehicles on the roads by 2030
✅ Protect and create thousands of jobs
✅ Create meaningful ethics reforms & consumer protections
I look forward to signing it into law.

But it's an election year.
"'What I saw was horrifying,' state Rep. Anna Stava-Murray of Naperville said Monday, referring to admissions by ComEd. 'Absolutely, he should step down and resign from both his positions as speaker and leader of the Illinois Democratic Party.'"
Grateful for my colleagues joining me in the call for Speaker Madigan to resign from not only his role as Speaker, but also as the chair of the Democratic Party of Illinois.
Teaching about #Thanksgiving in a socially responsible way means that educators accept the ethical obligation to provide students with accurate information and to reject traditions that sustain harmful stereotypes about Indigenous peoples.

This is a matter of safety, privacy, and the ability to live authentically without burden. Thanks to @TeamStavaMurray & @senatorcastro for their leadership on this measure & for ensuring that Illinois keeps moving forward.
