@NikkiSixx Hottest I’ve ever been was in Stl last night- totally worth it. Thanks for hanging in there with us and giving 💯 in spite of the insane heat! What’s something great about this tour that you haven’t experienced with other previous tours?
But it is getting so much better. And today... everything went so well...it felt so normal! Friday, nothing felt hard, it all felt right! Today I’m still appreciative and so grateful.
Today was a great day with my class. We did science experiments, fraction math using candy hearts, virtual Valentines, Bingo, a craft... all over zoom. But it didn’t feel like we were on zoom. It felt like prepandemic school. It felt like we were all together in one room.
(The friendships might be the single most important thing I’ve helped to foster this entire year). At the end of our party, we opened our virtual Valentines and I almost started to cry (the notes they wrote!!!)
Teaching virtually day in and day out has been the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my career. I have learned more this year than probably any year before and the curve has been steep. It has taken me hours to do things that should only take a few minutes.
Every student was engaged and cameras were on...kids changing their background to reflect their petri dish with water and m&m’s in it, typing how much fun they were having in the chat... laughter... These kids from all over this city have become friends!
This is so good. Kate Tobben, CPS virtual teacher worked hard to find a way for her students to do the Valentine’s Day science labs. Look at those results!
@PStieple I am so sorry for your loss and thought of you immediately when I heard the news. Her loss is felt across the globe. What an amazing woman. Praying for comfort for those who loved her most. And praying for our country, as no replacement could ever replace her.
Some students aren’t putting forth much effort; I’m grateful that teachers aren’t giving up on them.
Some parents keep pushing back; I’m grateful that teachers are demonstrating poise and patience.
This year is really hard; I’m grateful that teachers are persevering.
STL teachers and staff tell MO Governor and the President to shove-it.
Do y’all see what I see? Class size limit! That. Is. What. I’m. Talking. About. 👏

Another disappointment. In what seemed like a promising solution, testing has shown that shooting the covid-19 virus with semi-automatic rifles did not stop the virus. A follow-up test where the people simply taunted the virus with semi-automatics also had disappointing results.
