England have been poor so far this match. Unfortunately, Rew, Baker and Fisher are not test match material yet. Bethell looks horribly out of practice and they need a quality spinner.
@CFitzy7@Reduislam7 Lancs seem to spot young talent but not produce decent county pros to play for us. How many Lancs players have left and have good careers away from Old Trafford?
@TheGriftReport Perhaps the military could just pay decent salaries, have fit for purpose housing and accommodation and not keep making experienced staff redundant ?
LANCASHIRE WIN BY 29 RUNS! 😍
It’s carnage out in the middle and Chappell is run out and it’s a massive win for the Red Rose!
LET’S GOOOOO!!! 💪

A brilliant spell from James Anderson powers Lancashire to a memorable victory 💪
Chasing 138, Derbyshire were well placed at 73-3 before collapsing to 108 all out, undone by a match-defining burst from the 43-year-old seamer 💥

@UKLabour Those cunning police chiefs have just put the word "neighbourhood" in front of existing job titles. Behold the "Neighbourhood" CID, RPU, Tasking team etc. Simply moving deck chairs as the ship sinks
@iofiv It's a slippery slope, first calling my beloved orange marmalade "citrus" then the woke bastards will be after the crumpets. I, for one, will not be eating dimpled toasted breakfast snacks.
@MediumPaceDobb1 It was a good knock for the first day of the season but Lancs have a habit of identifying young talent, bringing them through the age groups only to see mediocrity and wasted talent in 1st team cricket
@rams13472@lyeemoon I tutored lots of probationary officers during my time and the ex military ones were not the best - often basic reading & report writing were very poor. Some couldn't cope when not constantly supervised
@InspGadgetBlogs I was doing a PSU refresher years ago & we were being observed by Belgian police. To our bosses they were very complimentary & told them the UK police were brilliant & had excellent tactics. They told us that we were f#cking idiots for standing there as target practice
@YardleyShooting Why would a young person join the military nowadays? Pay is poor, housing is substandard and initial recruitment can take years. Add to this poor publicity about diversity targets and retention - no wonder working for a discount supermarket seems a better career choice.
@BearJFK To do this would mean some kind of conscription / national service. Pay, conditions and (particularly) housing in the armed services are terrible. There wouldn't be enough volunteers as things currently stand
