No AI generated graphics here. With real Canes fan @RoyCooperNC at Game 5.
Wild idea: vote for the US Senate candidate who can actually name a @Canes player.
Dusting this one off for tonight’s big game. There’s no warning quite like a @Canes hurricane warning, and tonight we’re gonna finish the job.
Game 6 in Vegas, Cup on the line. Let’s bring it home. #SoundTheSiren
Greg Lindberg's attempted bribery case forced @ChairmanHayes, the chairman of @NCGOP, to resign in disgrace after lying to the FBI. He was later given a Trump pardon.
Now, Greg Lindberg is widely rumored to be spending 💰💰💰 to buy a Trump pardon for himself.
But presidential pardons don't cover state criminal charges. So this could really be something...
The federal case against Greg Lindberg is not the end of this matter. When I take office as Wake County District Attorney on January 1st, I’ll launch an investigation into possible state criminal charges related to this case. 🧵
Wake County is growing fast — but our District Attorney’s Office has not kept pace.
Right now, Wake County prosecutors are carrying overwhelming caseloads while working to keep our community safe, support victims, and deliver justice. That’s not sustainable. 🧵
In Mecklenburg County, the average caseload is 960 cases per prosecutor. In Wake County, it’s over 2,400.
That’s not sustainable — and it’s a serious public safety risk.
It means victims wait years, not months, for justice. It means repeat offenders remain on the street much longer. It means Wake County’s justice system is being pushed to its breaking point.
Mecklenburg County is funding its District Attorney’s Office. Wake County should do the same.
I’ve asked the @WakeGOV Board of Commissioners to invest in additional prosecutors and staff so we can reduce caseloads, move cases more efficiently, and keep our community safe.
⬇️ Read the article below for more — and ask the Wake County Board of Commissioners to support public safety in the upcoming budget.
Today I had the opportunity to sit down with @TheAshleyRowe from @WRAL to talk about the importance of mental health courts.
Mental health courts provide a smarter approach to public safety—connecting non-violent offenders to treatment and support instead of cycling them through the traditional justice system. They reduce recidivism, save taxpayer dollars, and most importantly, give individuals a real chance to stabilize and rebuild their lives.
We also discussed my request for critical funding from the Wake County Board of Commissioners to expand and strengthen these efforts here in Wake County. Four of the five largest counties in North Carolina—Mecklenburg, Durham, Guilford, and Forsyth—already have mental health courts. With the Board’s support, we can establish a full-time mental health court here in Wake County.
Investing in mental health courts is an investment in public safety, recovery, and long-term community well-being. I’m grateful for the opportunity to highlight this issue and help move the conversation forward.

On Tuesday, I announced a new approach to low-level and medical marijuana cases in Wake County.
Beginning January 1st, when I take office as District Attorney, we’ll focus more resources on serious and violent crime—not low-level marijuana charges.

Had a great visit with Governor @JoshStein_ today.
We talked about working together to strengthen public safety, protect consumers and families, and build trust in our justice system.
Grateful for his leadership as Attorney General for 8 years and now as Governor. Looking forward to partnering with his office as Wake County’s next DA. #ncpol
$200 BILLION.
Meanwhile families are struggling, costs are up, and Congress is being asked to write a blank check for yet another forever war.
You’ve got to be kidding me.
Great to visit with NC Attorney General @JeffJacksonNC.
We talked about working together to strengthen public safety, tackle the fentanyl crisis, and ensure accountability in our justice system.
Looking forward to partnering with his office as Wake County’s next DA. #ncpol
Last night's vote shows that Wake County is tired of watching the powerful and well-connected play by a different set of rules.
Congratulations @WileyNickel for becoming Wake County's next District Attorney!
I’m deeply grateful to the voters of Wake County for placing their trust in me. Tonight, they voted for change — a new direction focused on public safety, accountability, and restoring trust in our justice system. 🧵
Tomorrow is Election Day in Wake County. 🗳️
Polls are open from 6:30am–7:30pm.
I’m running for District Attorney to keep our community safe, fight political corruption, and stand up to Donald Trump’s attacks on our community.
I’d be honored to earn your vote.

I’m running for Wake County District Attorney because this moment demands leadership that’s ready to act.
✅ Wake County needs more prosecutors and real resources — including stronger mental health interventions — to keep our community safe.
✅ We need to tackle political corruption head-on.
✅ And ICE won’t get a free pass. If federal agents break the law in Wake County, I’ll prosecute abuse.
This is about building a justice system that’s strong, fair, and accountable.
I laid it out here ⬇️
I’ve got a wild update on this anti-Michelle Morrow sign post!
I’m told a woman was arrested by Apex PD for trying to steal it from the Early Vote location. @WRAL is covering the story.
I posted this picture a few days ago as a goof because I think Michelle Morrow is a joke and I still harbor very strong feelings against her for saying my old boss President @BarackObama should be put to death by firing squad.
Big takeaway here is that it’s definitely a crime to steal campaign signs…
This campaign is powered by people who care deeply about Wake County.
I’m proud of the elected and community leaders who’ve endorsed our race for District Attorney.
