Teamsters, Chauffeurs, Warehousemen, Helpers, Professional, Clerical, Public and Miscellaneous Employees, Donner and the Tahoe Basin, Reno and N. Nevada
✊ 90 years Teamsters 533 has been representing professionals who deliver, pick-up & warehouse essential supplies & goods, solid/recyclable waste, along w/ delivering and picking up precious cargo through buses & airports in Northern Nevada & the Lake Tahoe Basin. 3/15/1934
Motor coach drivers and dispatchers at Diversified Transportation, a subsidiary of Student Transportation of America (STA), have voted overwhelmingly to join Teamsters Local 533. The 114 workers are responsible for safely transporting crews to and from mining sites across Northern Nevada, often in demanding environments that require long hours, complex scheduling, and a strong commitment to safety.
“These workers perform essential work for Nevada’s mining industry, and they deserve the dignity, protections, and fair treatment that come with a Teamsters contract,” said Gary Watson, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 533. “We’re proud to have worked in partnership with Teamsters Joint Council 7 to welcome them into our local and look forward to securing meaningful improvements at the bargaining table.”
UPS CEO Carol Tomé got $24 million last year — that’s almost a cool million every two weeks. She’s also disingenuous enough to look down her nose at hardworking drivers and claim the paltry $1,800 buyouts being offered to Teamsters is “a nice check."
Cut the shit, Carol. With our labor, UPS Teamsters made you rich. The least you can do is show some respect for your workforce. Our jobs are NOT for sale!
HAWLEY, BERNIE GRILL AMAZON’S NOMINEE FOR NLRB
Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) grilled Crystal Carey, Amazon’s preferred nominee to be the next General Counsel of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) on Wednesday during a hearing of the Senate Health, Labor, Education, and Pensions Committee. Both senators defended American workers and shot down Carey’s cowardice and unwillingness to acknowledge whether she believes the NLRB to be constitutional, the legitimacy and legality of anti-labor captive audience meetings, and the reality that Amazon is an employer of its delivery drivers.
Carey, whose nomination the Teamsters Union opposes, is a partner at Morgan Lewis, one of the nation’s worst anti-union law firms. Amazon is one of Carey’s top clients — a direct conflict of interest for the potential General Counsel, whose decisions and oversight could negatively impact millions of American workers.
“Nothing you’ve said so far has allayed my concerns,” Hawley told Carey during her HELP testimony. “In fact, you’re worsening them as I sit here.”
“You have no answer,” Sanders told Carey, “as to whether or not the agency you hope to work for is constitutional.”
The Teamsters Union applauds Sen. Hawley and Sen. Sanders for standing up for the rights of Amazon workers, rank-and-file Teamsters, and American workers everywhere.
Metro Transit Teamsters in Madison, Wisc. are demanding city officials address the growing number of recent attacks against bus operators, with four attacks happening in the last five weeks alone.
Driver safety should be at the top of the city’s priority list. It’s time for Metro Transit to start taking care of these essential members of Teamsters Local 120.
👀Keolis Transit in trouble with the Federal Government again! Keolis has a long history of violating protected rights of workers. Shame on Keolis. #FAFO#Teamsters
After 7 years without a pay raise and rampant mistreatment, hundreds of Southern Glazer’s workers took power into their own hands and unionized with Teamsters Local 745 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Workers at Southern Glazer’s facilities in Arkansas, Kentucky, Florida, New Mexico and Tennesse have since followed in joining the Teamsters.
Teamsters Local 533 members and staff spent the day at the Nevada Legislature today to testify in support of AB 179. This bill would close the loophole that companies currently exploit to discipline workers for using their earned sick time. #workerprotectionbill#ab179
Thank you to @La_Rue_Hatch for helping us carry this priority bill. Our members don't deserve to be written up or retaliated against for using their earned sick time and this bill will help protect all Nevada workers from bad corporate actors.

Congrats to our newest members at Tony’s Fine Foods (UNFI), for ratifying their 1st Agreement. Securing significant Wage Increases, Pension, & Teamster Healthcare. More importantly, they secured a voice in their workplace that will provide long term success.

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters has grown by an astounding 75,000 new members under Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien and General Secretary-Treasurer Fred Zuckerman, a direct result of key investments in strategic organizing.
The Teamsters Union has organized more new members in the last 2 years than the previous administration had done in the last decade. In every state, we see workers fighting back, taking hold of their futures, and joining the Teamsters in record numbers.
The widespread solidarity with Amazon Teamsters is unstoppable.
Over 200 Teamsters pickets at Amazon facilities nationwide have supported the thousands of Amazon Teamsters on strike.
The message is clear: Amazon must fulfill its legal obligations and bargain a fair contract with the Teamsters. Working people deserve better from this $2 trillion corporation.
Amazon can't stop lying because they know it's impossible to justify their exploitation.
Amazon workers at facilities across the country are realizing their power and striking to win everything they deserve with the Teamsters.
