Having spent 7+ years trying to build up a profile on here for the group, I’ve decided it’s time to move over to 🦋 Please head over there to continue to follow us + what we’re up to: https://t.co/4Xzon1pK2o (although yet to post but plan to rectify that shortly!) 👩🔬🧬🧠
And then @CaitlinCeciliaC lifted the Roger Wadsworth award for best talk 👏⭐️ This is for final year #PhD students + is particularly special for me as Roger was one of my PhD supervisors (a long, long time ago!) so I’m sure he’s smiling + also wondering why no myography featured!
Saturday was a good day for science, especially for @UofGSCMH (let’s not mention rugby 🏉🫣). At the Scottish Cardiovascular Forum meeting 2 of the amazing team won a prize 🏆 for their talk/poster. Huge congratulations to Nicola @alysonmiller24 for her poster prize 💪🤩
Any opportunity to celebrate the amazing women I work alongside is enough to convince me to get in front of the camera (even if I do look like I’ve just fallen out of bed 😬). As a #WomeninSTEM we must call out where barriers exist to make things more equitable moving forward 👩🔬
They say time flies when you’re having fun…today @CaitlinCeciliaC gave an excellent *final* AiR presentation for her @TheBHF funded #PhD. I can’t believe she is almost finished but what a wealth of exciting + important data she has generated #stroke#AF Well done Caitlin 🧠👏🫀
Super excited to be in Edinburgh on 𝐖𝐞𝐝 𝟓 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 for this @TheBHF event. Looking forward to speaking with James Leiper about all things science 🥼👩🔬 and more!

This news landed on an otherwise fairly typical Monday afternoon - it certainly lifted spirits & put a spring in my step! Absolutely deligted to have our #AthenaSwan silver award renewed - we had much to celebrate from work over the last 5 years & have much to do over the next 5!
🌟 Exciting news! Our school has successfully renewed its Athena Swan Silver Award! 🎉 A huge thank you to the Athena Swan SAT team (especially Lorraine and Scott) for their dedication and hard work. 👏

Had the pleasure of hosting students from @WilliamwoodHS this week for work experience. We hope they enjoyed their time in the labs. Thanks also to colleagues in Wolfson Medical School, MVLS Cellular Analysis Facility, Sports Science, and Undergrad Teaching.@UofGSCMH
In the light of Trump's attack on LGBT+ rights and his ban on DEI initiatives, if there are any informal groups in US chemistry departments/companies who would like to hear one of my webinars discussing #LGBTSTEM issues, I would be happy to arrange. [1/5]
