Spark Grants Batch #1 - I launched this microgrant scheme to seed ambitious rooms, novel conversation and new media across the UK. The goal is to get builders and creators so excited about the future they go and build it themselves.

Non-commutative algebra goes computational!
With new algorithms developed by Wolfram, Version 14.3 lets you do do computations in non-commutative algebras—for quantum mechanics, tensor algebra, abstract algebra and more.
(And, yes, we've been planning this since Version 1.0!)

A UK startup has just raised the biggest funding round EVER for a pure‑play quantum networking company
Nu Quantum (@NuQuantumLtd) is aiming to create the internet of quantum computers:
"connecting separate quantum processors into a distributed network that operates as a single system."
The founder, Dr Carmen Palacios‑Berraquero, is a leading authority on Quantum and is a physicist from the University of Cambridge.
The company has announced a $60 million Series A, led by National Grid Partners and joined by Gresham House Ventures, Morpheus Ventures, and long‑time backers including Amadeus Capital, IQ Capital, Ahren Capital, and Sumitomo.
Europe can build deep, frontier technologies and the team at Nu Quantum are proving it.
LETS GO
A poetic analogy is thinking of QC as a black box computation in a separate universe. It’s quite literally done in a higher dimension that we can only get a glimpse of when we measure
In Krakow 🇵🇱 for the next 3 days for the Quantum Computing for Space Applications workshop! Presenting some work on quantum encoding and data augmentation in diffusion models (more in the blog: https://t.co/j237VRwOSs). So far cold but sunny
Takeaways from the AAAI QIML panel:
So interesting that women started leaving computing in the late 80s, around the same time as male-marketed video games began to rise
Regarding imaging techniques and video generation, there are a lot of overlaps with how sensor (eg radar) data is used in autonomous driving. Then the organisational aspect of building EHT is applicable to all large scale projects
Machine learning models keep getting bigger… I’m seeing how we can outsource computational bottlenecks onto quantum hardware. By exploiting quantum properties, we could speed up training by orders of magnitude. Huge for ML experimentation, research, and democratization of AI.
