A conversation with my friend turned into us investigating assumptions into our views of self (and anatta). Eventually we both, at the same time, got this shroomy headspace and then became afraid. Existential fear. It was as if I came to a precipice and peered into nothingness
@psswordprotectd I think this is because the doors are tools for proofs against selfhood — a system within experience, not experience itself. So they are related to the implied priors of personhood, and from there satisfaction is much easily intuited
@psswordprotectd I’ve had similar thoughts: there’s something obviously fundamental about anatta as a mark of experience (and anicca imo bc of time). But dukkha is not intuitively one of the fundaments (though after investigation, sure)
