Freedom to hold differing opinions is great - but super rich people fighting to avoid modest taxes deserve some snark (and of course to be utterly defeated - check out @Tech4Recovery if you'd like to help on that front)
@KC_RHA If the executives at these companies simply paid the same local tax rate as someone who earns minimum wage, we could permanently end homelessness today.

Fellow tech workers - last year's high threshold capital gains tax was a step toward progressive taxation; this year's #SB5426 a billion $ threshold wealth tax would be another important one
It's important we speak up!
"Our upside down tax code plus the pandemic have increased inequality and starved communities of what they need. I do expect to pay the capital gains tax in a few years, and frankly I'm over the moon about that." -Bryan Kirschner, @Tech4Recovery#waleg#investwanow
Really good context here on why it is so important & timely for us tech workers to advocate for progressive taxes, suited to the realities of our economy, and tailored to create shared prosperity for all.
Penned this piece in @civicskunkworks today because I'm truly worried about Washington's upside down tax code.
Know what I'm not worried about? Passing a wealth tax and finally asking billionaires to pay their share. #DontWorry#waleg

Our big & growing tech industry is a conduit for money from big companies all over the world to flow into our state for cloud computing and more - baby bonds, a UBI are smart, fair ways to ensure it also flows into shared & sustained prosperity for all, not just wealth for a few.
Tons of research points to direct cash as a source of economic strength for individuals, families, communities & businesses. So #WaLeg: Who is for the WA Future Fund (Baby Bonds)? Guaranteed Basic Income? An equitable implementation of the #WAWorkingFamiliesTaxCredit? #AskWaLeg
Not all tech workers have the hoard of Smaug, but many of us are doing well - in part due to the acceleration of digital transformation because of COVID - so it is a good time to #TaxUsNow to invest in recovery for our communities. We'll all benefit.
SB 5426 would create a 1% tax on financial assets in excess of $1 billion, putting WA one step closer to balancing our tax code, directing much-needed resources to low & middle-income communities. Who will support SB 5426? #AskWALeg#waleg#investwanow
Balancing our Tax Code means not only making sure everyone is paying their share, but also providing support for people who need it. Do you support creating a Guaranteed Basic Income program in WA?
#askwaleg
1/ Urgent action: SB 5769 would repeal the hi-threshold capital gains tax passed last year
