My job lets me be part Rip Wheeler & part Charlie Wilson. It's kind of fun.
Record deal: The Chiefs are adding two years to Patrick Mahomes’ contract, tying him to Kansas City through the 2033 season at a value of $504.75 million, making it the first NFL deal valued at over a half-billion dollars, per @RapSheet and me.
Equity Sports CEO Chris Cabott, and Chiefs GM Brett Veach and his staff, put the finishing touches on the landmark agreement today.
Will Wade should place a bunch of bets on the College World Series right now. Then whatever NC State comes up with a judge will just throw it out.

"When Georgia goes high moral ground, watch out. That's a football program that should have its own Autobahn. Give me a break... This is a kid that did something idiotic, which is what kids do."
@colincowherd weighs in on Brendan Sorsby being ruled eligible in 2026
All but five of 34 Big Ten & SEC presidents/chancellors participated in two separate ~30-minute calls with Sens. Ted Cruz, Maria Cantwell and Eric Schmitt today, sources tell @YahooSports.
The Brendan Sorsby situation "would have never happened" under the bill, lawmakers said.
@KyleEads Great point! But who gets to decide what’s “right” or “not wrong?” Domestic abuse is swept under the rug. Drugs/alcohol get 3-4 chances. Felonies are plead down. Grades are irrelevant. An underlying issue is that athletics at all levels used to be a privilege, not a right.
Cody is absolutely right here. No one acted for years. Conferences protected their bag over all Now, everyone is mad when the non-SEC, Big10 school uses the current lack of system to its advantage. Much like congress, B10/SEC only wants to hold everyone else accountable. 1/2
Last week @CharlieBakerMA made an equivocal statement and failed to endorse the bipartisan Cruz/Cantwell bill, that is aimed at and will be effective in bringing order to chaos. This week Charlie and the NCAA are begging for Congressional support and intervention.
Blame Texas Tech, blame agents, blame plaintiffs attorneys, blame me and other boosters…hell, blame whoever you want...But if you want to know why college sports are in such a mess, look no further than right here.
@Mathieu_Era (Not judging) This is a perfect example. Mr. Matthieu fought suspension if memory serves for synthetic weed. And while it's not the same, don't tell me there aren't vapes in every locker room in America right now.
Is it slimy? Yes. But spare me the outrage when athletes and schools all over the country cheated, bended rules, committed crimes, got caught and litigated eligibility out of it.
