Phishing is one of the many ways hackers get access to your account information. Just like fishing, “bait” is used to try and lure you into providing sensitive information. Phishing e-mails generally try and get you to click a link and/or request that you “log in” to an account.

Did you know cookies are stored in your computer? Unfortunately, they’re not the type of cookies that could be dispensed from your computer and be eaten as a delicious snack….although that sounds like a great idea!
Without cookies, you would have to login again after you leave a website or you would have to restock your online shopping cart if you accidentally close the page.
Since the data in cookies does not change, cookies themselves are not harmful.
It’s that time of the year when you can find some very good deals, whether it’s in-store or online. As per stats from the International Trade Administration, there were 27 million online shoppers in Canada in 2022, accounting for 75%of the Canadian population.
Avoid Public Shopping
It’s tempting to purchase an item at a free hotspot if you see great deal that’s about to expire. A hotpot at your local café or restaurant are places where hackers like to lurk as the public networks are not secured.
