It's the International Day of Persons with Disabilities!
The United Nations started the event in 1992 as a day to help everyone become aware of the challenges faced by people with disabilities and to recognize the benefits of including people with disabilities in everyday life.
HWDSB is excited to share its first-ever family message for International Day of Persons with Disabilities, held on Dec. 3 each year.
We're also recognizing the event with resources for staff to help school communities learn about disability.
