@mrmikeMTL Currently rotating between Helldivers 2 and Diablo 4 based on which colleagues are on in a given night. 56 y/o. Have a 46 y/o wife who is plowing through the entire PC available Resident Evil catalog when I’m not on.
@_ShotgunShogun I am the only guy in my entire hospital floor who lifts weights. At a recent staff party at a colleague’s house, one guy’s 17 year old daughter and her friend approvingly christened me “Buff Dad.” I felt great for weeks 😆
@manuni340839@ChadowskiIsBack Punisher is no wing 🤪 Ascribing politics to him is like ascribing politics to the shark in Jaws. He’s a force of nature, that’s it. In most of the best Punisher stories, the truly interesting characters are the ones around him - the reluctant allies and the villains.
@KaiKai2492 Sad to say, I beat NGB 20 years ago at 36 on master ninja difficulty - and yet while I know the game perfectly after yearly replays, at 56 I cannot beat master level any more, the reflexes just aren’t there for the skill necessary. 🤪 Very hard is still doable, barely.
@KaiKai2492 I love the Souls games and have platinumed ALL of them.
But Ninja Gaiden (from Black onward) is in a class by itself.
Souls requires knowledge, that’s pretty much it. NG requires knowledge *and* skill.
@mrmikeMTL I beat Ninja Gaiden Black on master ninja difficulty 20 years ago at 36. Now at 56 I can’t repeat that with the reflexes I have :-( but I can still beat it on very hard. The day I can’t beat “ninja dog” difficulty is the day I hang it up, LOL.
@magnitorious@downbadcomment Same happened to me - working with teen girls at one point, I was the only man who had ever been kind to them and not because he wanted to sleep with them. Crushes were common 😞 but we often worked through them.
@TheGingerPerks 1 is its own animal and I found it fun (the sci-fi angle is unique in the series), 2 was the most repetitive BY FAR, 3 was where it took off (and the Blood Dragon DLC is an absolute riot 😆).
@sonderssgirl Was mildly disappointed at the final battle - when the ships were massing, I was hoping a bunch of Rachni ships would pop in, everyone would go nuts, but the queen would telepathically announce her alliance based on Shepard’s trust in her.
@memeslich Roger Moore (the D&D OG one, not the James Bond one) had a GREAT article back in the day in Dragon Magazine (issue 51, reprinted in “Best of Dragon vol III) about this very topic. Shouldn’t be too hard to find.
@IsabellaTardy @theralkia Much like “Dr. Phil” of Oprah fame. What he did was standard behavioral psychology, and at a very simple (but effective) level. But people hated him for his politics and persona (while many psychologists didn’t care for him due to his shenanigans that cost him his license).
@IsabellaTardy @theralkia That depends. His lectures on YouTube are standard clinical psychology, nothing new or controversial. In fact, much of it is quite good. His politics - well, that’s the nature of politics, some will love what he says and some will hate it.
@bbGOJII@Sargon_of_Akkad Some people have said that odd inclusions (like what appears to be full plate armor worn by the Laestrygonians) are allowable under “artistic license.” It is indeed - but then, many other incomprehensible things are as well. Like lightsabers. 😆
@memeslich Simple little second level spell: stinking cloud.
Based on how angry people get over microwaved fish or burned popcorn, this is a no-brainer.
@IsabellaTardy @theralkia Psychologist here - don’t dislike him at all, and in fact I can’t think of any of my peers who do, unless it’s about politics. Some of his Jungian beliefs are… quaint ;-) but that’s no reason to dislike him.
@TheCinesthetic Sadly disappointed to see so few mentions of Basil Poledouris. He may not have as many legendary scores as Williams, but Conan stands up there with Star Wars, Raiders, Superman, etc.
