@dieworkwear Is there a difference in how the shoulders are cut? Anytime I have to get my hands above chest height my suit jacket starts doing all kinds of ungentlemanly things.
@dieworkwear My problem is that when I get, say, a very comfortable flannel shirt repaired, it often has another hole within 6 months. Because the reason it tore in the first place is that the fabric so worn in and soft.
@OrinKerr If there was a bouncer at the door, talking to each customer: "Are you ICE? No? Great, come on in!" Would that change the analysis?
What if the cashier says every time someone walks in, "Hi, welcome in to XYZ! Unless you're an ICE agent, in which case please get out."
@Michaelfiore You're a public business. And this is the local FB group, not *your* group. Of course people are going to talk about you. Instead of worrying if it's rude, figure out why they don't want to buy from you.
@LadyAngeIique@SteveMascord@maxxin_alll_J Are British sweet scones tender and flaky, then? The things sold here as scones are ... of a texture to reassure you that baking is serious business — relatively hard, dry, and dense. A good biscuit is about as soft as a fresh dinner roll, but more fragile.
@jamesdillard@CountryLiving I always saw monarch migration hotspots documented in, like, the mountains of Mexico. But this year I learned the East Coast has a fairly significant migration too. Easiest place to find them is tips of capes leading out into big bays (Cape May, Kiptopeke St. Park in Va.)
@shagbark_hick Also please at least a couple of shots with the boundaries drawn on. So many listings are like: "Here are some anonymous trees. We're trying to sell you some of them. Is the ones here in the front, or those at the back right? You get to guess!"
@johnpelwood@reason Fascinating (worrying) to read. By the way, I think you have an extra word in the second sentence of the second paragraph ("successful practice medical practice").
This is your reminder that it’s almost planting season! Most people think that Spring is for planting, but for trees and shrubs, it’s actually better to plant them in the fall.
When planted in the fall they have a longer time to get roots established before their first summer.
If we're very lucky, Mumford v. Iowa could spawn a whole string of subsidiary/follow-up decisions, allowing some glorious future legal scholar to discuss the import of Mumford and sons.
In May, SCOTUS called for a response in Mumford v. Iowa, which asks whether it violated the Fourth Amendment for a drug dog to jump on a lawfully stopped car and stick its head in the window. The State filed its response today.
@DPearsonPHL I think a bunch of that bill would still be incurred, unless you eliminated the state police wholesale. I grew up near a twp that eliminated PD and went to staties only. They drove the main roads (as before) and came if a crime happened, but back roads were basically unpoliced.

I deleted a post this morning because a very strange thing happened on here.
I posted that the main reason housing is expensive is because people who already bought their house (their most valuable asset) generally don’t like the idea of lots of homes being built in their market.
Was expecting some pushback, and I think it’s a good conversation to have.
Then right away an anon account made a comment about immigration. Not totally unexpected, as many feel like it’s a variable.
But the comment started immediately getting a whole lot of likes (it was very early in the morning today when engagement is typically very low) - and then it started getting reposted by a bunch of anon accounts that don’t follow me, and with few followers.
Then came the hateful comments that were totally unrelated - again by accounts that don’t follow me.
It is very unusual to get lots of immediate engagement from users who are not followers - and the level of hate was very unusual and apparent.
Felt coordinated. Somebody very motivated to create division and trigger people.
Hadn’t seen a post play out like that before - was a bit scary tbh.
