Unincorporated Jefferson County is under a Stage 2 Fire Ban. All fireworks are illegal.

That means all fireworks. Legal, illegal, small, big, loud, sparkly. ALL are illegal.

Due to the current fire danger, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office will employ an aggressive enforcement approach for violations of the Sheriff’s Stage 2 Fire Ban. Individuals who violate the restrictions should expect strict enforcement action.

To report illegal fireworks, please do not call 911 unless there is an injury, fire, or immediate threat to life or property.

The Aspen Acres Fire has scorched 47,953 acres (approximately 75 square miles) across Pueblo and Custer counties and remains at 0% containment. As of July 2, 2026, it is officially the largest active wildfire in Colorado and has been declared the No. 1 firefighting priority in the nation, drawing emergency personnel and resources from across the country. At least 180 structures have been impacted, and officials state the town of Beulah has been heavily affected and "is going to look different for a lot of people."

In a press conference minutes ago, authorities said the Aspen Acres Fire is now 7 miles from Wetmore, Colorado, and now a mandatory evacuation is in effect for the Wetmore area. From Pueblo county line, to Mackenzie Junction, to Fremont county to the North.

For an idea of how far this fire has run, the original evacuation shelter was in Wetmore…

People are NOT being allowed into the fire area. The plan to asses homes lost has been postponed today due to fire activity. This fire is likely well over 40,000 acres now. Fire managers said they had to order a Team from Alaska due to other fires across the West utilizing a large number of resources. Red flag conditions persist over the fire area.

6 years ago, conservatives were raising the alarm about Denver. Kyle Clark, in a now-deleted tweet, mocked the concern as being "afraid to come into Denver because of talk radio fear-mongering."

6 years later, Denver has the highest office vacancy rate in America. Buildings are being sold for pennies on the dollar. Restaurants are closing weekly, and the city is collapsing.

Under Democratic leadership, Colorado has become the 3rd-most-expensive state. Last night's socialist embrace confirms Colorado is doubling down on bad policies.

Colorado will get more expensive, more businesses will leave, families will move, and the state will follow Denver's demise.
